Thats definantly correct. Alston has done himself, and the organization no favors what so ever. Instead of putting his head down and working on his game to show Adelman and the rest of the staff what he brings to the team, he has gone and got into trouble with law, put himself on the outer of the rotation AND made it harder to trade him.

Even if the allegations are false, which he has said and some reports also say, he has still put himself in a negative limelight in the media.

Oh well, we live and we learn I guess

Well, Rafer certainly deserves his day in court, but his days ON the court in Houston have come to an end.

    Thankfully.

    DD

PS. Trade him to New Jersey for Boki....

If this is true, and combined with these incidents, Rafer has done a complete mental tank-job this summer. If the slashing charges have any merit, I'm sure Rafer will end up being cut and released. Any GM that would take him along with his contract should be given a drug test.

Good. Let's trade Alston to the Pacers for Jermaine O'Neal.

    From the Chron:
That's pretty disappointing if it's true. I understand it would be frustrating to watch your bosses bring in three candidates for your job, but still, Alston should have shown some professionalism, accepted the challenge and proved to them he's the man for the job.

There's a novel idea. I think Boki would do well in Adelman's system and we'll probably need somebody at his position when Bonzi flakes out on us.

New Jersey doesn't need him. They've got Kidd who's older than dirt and has two bad knees, and is still arguably a top 3 PG. (Can we call him the baddest ass in the NBA over the past decade?) And they've got his heir apparent in Marcus Williams.

LOL! Even Altson knows he himself is a damn scrub and couldn't beat out anybody out of a job.

The only reason he had a job is because Van Gundy is a dumb ass.

Maybe thats what he's trying to do...get in enough trouble during the summer so the Rockets can't trade him. :D

New Jersey would only really need Alston if Kidd plays minutes at the 2 and Vince minutes at the 3.

Rafer's one attribute that JVG liked (too much) was that his TOs were low. Oh, and maybe a second would be the NYC connection.

Rafer's OK, but he's not long for this team, and if we're actually holding onto him with the BS notion of bringing him to camp and letting him earn a spot....well, come on, we all know we didn't bring in MJames and SFrancis and even Aaron Brooks for nothing.

So, Rafer, if you're innocent of the "slash", JUST CALM THE HELL DOWN. And stay out of clubs where they're gonna try to goad you into a fight so they can get paid ("hey, Skip, what are you, fifth string now?" "AAAAAARRRRGGH!!!")

    Exactumundo my friend, Exactumundo.

People buy into the Rafer the nice guy bla bla to easily.....

I would behave pretty nicely too if someone gave me a starting spot on a NBA team... just as a way of saying, "Thanks!! I know I dont deserve this. But its good to know that you think otherwise and have my back!"

Reduce Rafer's minutes (rightfully so) and the real him shows up. First in Toronto and now in Houston.

No one told Rafer that he is gone. If he could have outplayed Mike james, Francis, and Brooks, he would have retained his spot. He is just afraid of competetion because *gasp* this time around, he will actually have to earn his playing time?!?!

Rafer knows he is not better than James, Francis, or Brooks, so he just decides to quit this team by doing something. Maybe, Rafer is just a smart guy.

It was his crappy roster and he should get blamed for it. JVG and Rafer are some of the biggest mistakes in the history of the Rockets.

The dumb ass got out coached by a rookie coach in 2005. And in 2007 couldn't figure out how to make one change against the Jazz series.

Thank God JVG is gone! Reefer should be next and all will be good.
