I dont think this has already been posted but i didnt read my ESPN the magazine untill today. anyway, in the basketball notes section of the magazine with Jerry Stackhouse on the cover, they said this : "Steve Francis may be an even bigger headache to oppenets next year as he reports his headaches are supsiding due to a reduced salt diet. "Im feeling alot better, man" Steve reports, " and I know Im eating alot healthier than most players right now." " This is great news. however, do you think he might just be saying this to get his contract? If his headaches are really subsiding then he is certainly worth the max.
Here's the thread where it was posted previously... http://bbs.clutchcity.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32940 As I understand it, Steve's max contract is pretty much a done deal. At this point, it's pretty much a matter of dotting the I's and crossing the T's.
I think we'd sign him regardless of whether they were subsiding right now or not. We know there has to be something out there to limit them. So far a change in diet has done the trick and hopefully it will continue to work. Steve doesn't have to say anything, because he'll get his payday regardless. He's our Franchise and we're not letting him go, headaches or not. Maybe he and Cat will learn how to be passing fiends in the offseason and show us why they're the best backcourt duo in the NBA!
