Steve Francis has been very unselfish as of late, but after watching tonight's game, I just wish we had someone like Steve Nash.

Nash is the consummate point guard -- great shooter, great decisions with the ball, and very very unselfish. He is great at getting everyone else involved but also can hit jumpers and drive the lane well. Nash had a nice drive against Yao today.

Meanwhile, Francis bails the team out sometimes but continues to make mistakes, some examples: Francis blew a two on one where he took it himself against Nowitzki instead of dishing it. Also made a horrible pass to Yao Ming in the post where it went straight out of bounds. Nash is less physically gifted but has a higher basketball IQ.

A lot of trade suggestions are pretty ridiculous, the team is fine, and no one is going to take moochie norris and eddie griffin and give us back real NBA players. Dallas would never do it, but if Francis for Nash ever came up, this would be one trade that I think would improve the Rockets.

No other fair trade would really do much. I.e. Yao MIng for Jermain O'neal? Give me a break...

Of course, Yao has completely proven himself. . .

Seriously, leave the team alone bandwagoner, let them grow together already.

I would NEVER consider that. When Nash opts out and possibly goes to another team....have fun. The other team will not have Dirk(an in his prime top 8 player in the league) and Finley(very good option last year). I am talking about their weapons last year. Don't even get me started about this year. Nash is a VERY good point guard with instincts. He could never carry a team(He wouldn't be able to handle the extra attention and double teams Francis can). Before you say anything, remember that Francis carried us to the two best records to not make the playoffs ever(might be just one...kinda drunk here). Nash is a dominant role player...but still a role player. You always need two superstars to win(ummmmm.... 94...that was hakeem...he counted as two)it all. Nash does not seem like a superstar to me. Francis has all the traits to be # two star if he would just cut down on his turnovers. Practice makes perfect..just ask 94 Rocks. Took them a while.

Nash is not a huge talented genius like FRANCHISE. But he is a much better basketball player. I doult Nellie would do that trade.
Maybe Cuban could. Then Mavs will be more fun to watch!:D

Francis isn't even good enough to hold Nash's jock strap. Absolutely no contest on who the better player is.

It's true Francis is not a PG..not the type like Kidd or Nash that look forward to dish the ball and run the plays to help the teammates. That's why you see him blew the 2vs1 fastbreak easy points. A true point guard would look to pass for 2 easy points all the time. He's the Iversion type of player that needs the ball in his hand everytime.

Admit it or not, Nash is a better 'PG' than Francis.

nash > francis ,But I doubt Cuban would do it.

Id call up Suns tomarrow and request starbury+amare for francis+ ming. If only the suns had JVG coaching them they would be unstoppable.

I agree we need a true PG. Whether he will start or come off the bench doesn't matter. It was sad seeing our guards unable to break down the zone or run a simple transition play.

Dallas would never trade Nash for Francis because Nash schools Francis every time they play.

so how about posting something that shows an ability for thought? all your posts recently are cutting down other posts... it's like you come out of your cave or where ever every once in a while so you can cut someone down. get a life, and then tell me why this trade wouldn't help the rockets, even though it'd never happen because dallas won't do it.

i like the team fine. i just think a dish first point guard would help the rest of the team out. did you see the ball movement from the mavs last night? wow, i just wish the rockets had some of that. obviously we don't have a walker or finley who are also good passers but a nash would help.

ming and fancis for marbury and amare? i dont think that would help: francis and marbury are similar, and i don't think amare and cato could coexist in the paint.

Shaq and Kobe can co-exist and win championships, so I think on some level Yao and Francis could too. But what might complicate that is Yao will probably not be as good as Shaq, and his passing is overrated (Shaq is still the best passing center in the NBA). And Francis isn't a Kobe, he's more of an Iverson, and I don't think an Iverson-Shaq combo would work. So Yao needs to become more dominant in the paint and Francis needs to become a better shooter for the combo to work better.

In any case... Francis isn't overrated as stated in the other thread. The experts say he's a top five point guard and that's what he is. He's good player, Rockets shouldn't trade him for anyone other than Kidd or Nash, and only those two players would significantly improve the rockets. And since those won't happen, we should probably just hold on to him.

All this after going 5-2 first in the WEST  I was born and raised and still live in Houston and I hate to say this but we are turning into the NEW YORK fans this is making me ILL before this lost we were praising these guys now all of sudden we should trade Francis for Nash or Yao for J.Oneil WOW!! If we lose tonight I know it will be Francis for Marbury or Yao for Amare, but if we win it will be Francis and Yao the future and all that crap.. GROW UP HOUSTON we are not going 80-2 get over it we didnt make the playoffs in 4years and we expect them to win 70 games:rolleyes: DALLAS would love to have FRANCIS or YAO I bet Mark Cuban would pull that trade in a minute.

i'm hypersensitive and don't bother to analyze posts,

i love steve, anyone who says anything bad about steve must be a yao only fan,

i can't come up with a reason why nash wouldn't help this team, but i'm gonna hate on your post anyway,

you know i hate this emoticon, but for you man:

jeez... for someone with 4000+ posts, shouldn't you be able to come up with something with a little more depth?

look i said francis for nash would help the team, this is an objective statement. if you disagree, give me some reasons instead of sarcasm.
