Appartently more than 20 percent of people voting on CBSsportsline.com think so. more than 55 % have so far dubbed Steve Nash the next JS - or at least to "follow in his footsteps." Steve is in second place, Andre Miller third and Baron Davis #4. Does this mean 20 percent think Steve will play for a super long time but never win a championship?? hat does it mean to follow in JS's footstops???
Francis would average 12 assists a game if he had decent finishers. Mobley is an iso guy, so hell no, he isn't going to be counting for any of Steve's assists. Mobley is a fantastic player, but he sometimes isn't the best team player. Kenny is mister outside shooter, again any assits from Steve to him are purely coincidental. These two players are your 2nd and 3rd best players on the team. The only guys giving Steve any assits are Griffin and Cato. Remember when Francis came into the league that he was making some beautiful passes. Too bad none of the Rockets were waiting for the assists, thus equalling a lot of turnovers. Since then Francis has become more of a scorer out of pure necessity. Imagine if Francis didn't score 21 points a game. This team would only have won 5 games the whole season.
I don't know anything about projecting future statistics but theres one thing that standouts in the present and that ultimatley tells me why Steve Francis will never be a John Stockton, and that is the respect he has for Moochie Norris, who talent wise is nothing but a CBA point guard. Think about this: would John Stockton ever let a CBA point guard take the ball out of his hands for twenty-plus minutes a game....
