http://www.theindychannel.com/nba/6031919/detail.html Magic Suspends Francis Indefinitely POSTED: 3:49 pm EST January 12, 2006 Orlando, FL -- The Orlando Magic suspended star guard Steve Francis Thursday for conduct detrimental to the team. The organization did not provide an explanation for the suspension nor said how long it would last. Francis will sit out at least Friday's game at Portland when the Magic continue their west coast trip. Francis is in the midst of one of the worst seasons of his seven-year career. The three-time All-Star is averaging 16.8 points and a career-low 5.5 assists per game, while his 3.43 turnovers per contest is the third-most in the league. The former second overall pick has averaged just 11.5 points since January 3 and has committed 24 turnovers over his last four games. Francis scored at a rate of 21.3 points per game with the Magic a year ago, his first with Orlando since coming over from Houston in the Tracy McGrady trade. His 7.0 assists per game in 2004-05 was a career-high. The Magic may be without another of their players on Friday. Guard Keyon Dooling faces a possible suspension from the NBA after fighting with Seattle's Ray Allen in Wednesday's 113-104 loss to the SuperSonics. Both men were ejected for the scuffle. if its just one game I bet he got into an argument with Hill. Hill benched him because he got one of his stupid bouncing the ball techs in the first quarter of the last game. He played until the game was out of hand. Of course I'm speculating.
Ron Artest Scot Pollard (expiring contract) Anthony Johnson Steve Francis Stacey Augmon works on Real GM! Not that a young team like the Magic need a head case, though Mo-Ron is still young himself.
It will be interesting to see how this thread goes Folx will want to critisize him . . but then again it is orlando the same team T-mac had issue with . . . so either they bother got legit concerns or they both do not unless you are a homer Rocket River
Interesting take; I think the problem is, it was Weisbrod vs. McGrady, and Weisbrod has already been declared the loser of that battle. Francis has Vancouver, Houston and Orlando on his resume. But it is interesting, I wonder what he did.
Tradce him for Artest. I'd love to see what Francis would do for a winning franchise. I'd also like to see Orlando completely implode with Artest.
I'm afraid this is gonna be something serious this time. the kick, the superbowl fiasco, imo were not really big deals. I got a feeling that something bad happened. Or maybe not.
On Sportscenter Stephen A Smith said that he was suspended because he refused to check in the 4th quarter last night, he also said that both sides would welcome a trade, let the specualtion begin.
They're saying Steve was suspended b/c he refused to go into the game last night in the 4th quarter. It looks like his fire and passion are gone, hell, this month alone should tell you that...he's averaging 11.5/2.5rbs/4.2 assists and 5 TOs a game. Horrible.
