I think that Steve Francis should be the rookie of the year, because Odom and Brand are on the two worst teams in the NBA and are their teams only good player. But, Francis has Mobley averaging 15 points, and anderson scoring 12 a game. If they weren't on the Rockets, Francis would be scoring 20+ points a game!

Leading your team in more categories may just mean your team sucks more. [IMG]

    But seriously:

Brand leads his team in scoring, rebounding, FG%, minutes, and block shots. Just for kicks, he also leads the team in turnovers and personal fouls per game! [IMG]

Francis leads the Rockets in scoring, assists, and steals. Also for kicks, he also leads the Rockets in turnovers and personal fouls per game.

While I can't argue with your take on Chicago, I do take exception to your characterization of the Clippers. Odom does have players to share the scoring with. Here are the top three scorers from each team (ignoring guys out for long stretches of time):

    Houston:
    Francis 17.5
    Mobley 14.9
    Anderson 11.2

    Chicago:
    Brand 19.1
    Artest 11.9
    Carr 9.2

    Clippers:
    Taylor 17.1
    Odom 16.5
    Anderson 16.5

And that's not counting Tyrone Nesby. Keeping the argument strictly on scoring I would say Odom has at least as much responsibility to let others score as Francis does. After all, M. Taylor is still their first option.

However, there is more to the race than scoring or team records. Looking at the bigger picture, it looks like Brand or Francis, so the argument about Odom's scoring is moot. Loyalty aside, I'm hard put to say which one deserves it more, considering how steady Brand has been while Francis has recently been dropping in assists.

Francis has had a great season, but he dont need a roy trophy. Just let him be snubbed.

let him earn REAL hardware like MVP or a champioship ring or sumthin.

    ROY bah!

After last nights game I'd say Francis will get it. The Clippers coach even said that he's amazing to watch, and that the audience loved him. If Steve has a similar game against the Bulls on Sunday, he'll get the honors. Not that he needs an Ego Booster or anything.................
