Thats a hilarious rating system. I applaud USATODAY for their crappy effort.

stop the flow of runaway computer data. ;)

Anything that places Brent Barry as the #1 Shooting Guard and David Robinson as the #1 Center....is flawed, and can be 100% discounted. Not to mention Duncan 3rd power forward.

It's like, go back to the drawing board.

Ranking the Total by adding up the rankings of the Parts is the most unscientific way to do it. Even if the rankings of the parts are all correct, it totally ignores the weight of each part and the different distances between each rank.

did that rating even have a point? it was terrible. small forward was decent(though garnett is the best easily if nowitski is considered a power forward) and center was close if you take robinson off the top of the ranking.

You guy's who don't agree with this poll are completley nuts!! We've all known for years that Brent Barry is the Leage MVP. The Sonics have Barry (league MVP with the 80 points), Garry Payton, and Rashard Lewis. And that's why the Sonics aren't going to make the playoffs!!!

Barry, doesn't the league wish it! The White Jordan, that's what they called him when he entered the league. It's just recently that he has become semi respectable in the league.

    great point Zacatecas...

    Payton was #1 PG
    Barry was #1 SG
and Rashard was ranked higher than Kevin Garnett.

Yet, they were first round fodder.

damn...who honestly can point out such a stat?!!??!?!??!!

David Robinson #1 yet again. I really want to punch my computer monitor on that crap...and they've been doing this for over a decade. That very stat is why they always had Robinson ranked higher than Dream...and many people believed it. Now when you see Mermaid ahead of Shaq in 2002 you finally realize....

this stat compilation is just soooo wrong.
