can anyone get the rest of the article on espn insider? i would really hate for us to part with steve Francis, Pierce could be on the block By Chad Ford NBA Insider Send an Email to Chad Ford Monday, April 26 The dream is over. Remember when the Memphis Grizzlies were the team nobody wanted to play in the first round? Well it sure didn't take the Spurs long to get over their fears. A four-game sweep of the Grizzlies is by far the most impressive feat of any playoff team so far. The Grizzlies were deep, well coached and stoked to be in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. So what happens? Tony Parker and Tim Duncan systematically dismantle them. The Grizzlies' demise, combined with the quick kills of the Celtics and Knicks, brings into focus the other reality of this time of the year. It isn't just the lottery teams that are thinking about rebuilding.
this is chad ford we are talking about, I believe pierce and francis arent going to go anywhere. pierce is bostons only star now, and francis was won over many fans again with his gritty play in the playoffs and remember its his first season in a new system and yao just isnt ready yet to be the man on the team
There is a decent possibility that both Francis and Pierce get traded. If the right deal comes along and makes both teams better in the process then they are gone from their respective teams. At this point I say 50% SF3 is gone and 40% for Pierce
Chad Ford should be ashamed for claiming his column is an "insider," seeing as he just rips and rehashes local coverage, often overblowing it in the process. Until he demonstrates that he has knowledge through league contacts, I wouldn't buy into much of what he says. IIRC, he wrote that Francis was a for sure goner at the trade deadline because of how bad things were between him and JVG (Super Bowl incident). Whatever. Evan
