I really wish that Francis would watch Ford play one game and maybe he would learn how to be a true PG. This afternoon I watched TJ Ford and the UT Longhorns beat a pretty good Missouri Tigers basketball team. How did they do it? By playing team ball! Ford looks to pass the ball before shooting it and averages a little over 7.0 assist per game.

Ford is averaging 7 assists a game against college-material players. Stevie "Wink" Franchise is averaging a little over 6 a game against the best players in the world. Go figure, Bud.

Anyone think that the 4th ranked "nba" team would whip the 20th ranked nba team? Yeah, me too.

And what college player has averaged 20/6/6 in the last 4 years? What's that? the nba is dirrerent than the ncaa? Uh, what's that? No nba player has averaged 20/6/6 in the last 4 years? What's that? Only 4 nba players have ever averaged 20/6/6 in their first four years? Whats that? Steve Francis is the shortest player to have averaged 20/6/6 in his first four years? What's that? Andre Miller has never played on an nba team over .500? But, but, I thought Miller played with Odom/Brand? I thought setting up jump shooters (murray, person) was a way to get assists?

I love that UT's playing awesome this year, but Ford's an ass...

He came to play bkb at Gregory Gym once and played a pickup game where he picked 4 people that he didn't think would be all that great against 5 of the best from the gym at that time just cuz he wanted to show that he was so good his team could win anyways.

He lost and then he lost it and started getting pissed and told all of them to leave, get off the court (full court) so he could shoot around or some crap, saying he owned the court, etc., etc.

    Yeah, great team player.

I will say that TJ Ford is an awesome point guard.

Stoudamire is score-first. TJ is pass-first. No comparison.

7 assists a game in college is great. Nobody gets many assists per game in college. Averaging 10 assists a game in college is a near legendary feat. Trust me, if TJ Ford gets a starting job he'll be averaging more than 7 a game. Steve Francis didn't even average 5 assists a game in college, so don't say that Ford's 7 per game is terrible.

I don't think Francis played PG in college.

I like Francis, it is just that I think he would be a better SG than a PG. When I was watching Ford, I saw several things that I liked and wished Francis would do as a PG. So GR8-1, yeah, I do realize Steve is a good player, but I think he would be better utilized as a 2 guard.

When it comes to ford, he does not have many scorers around him at Texas. Can you tell me one player on UT that will end up being a star in the NBA or for that matter in the NBA? Second, you are right Ford does play college ball; he only has 40 minutes a game to get 7 assist a game where Steve has 48. No I don't think Ford is ready to play ball in the NBA, but I think he has some attributes that are very impressive.

"I think T.J. is the best player in the country," Missouri Coach Quin Snyder said. "If you're starting a team, that's who you'd start it with."

Franchise is NOT a playmaker. He and Mobley show that they are afraid of anyone else on the Rockets having a better Game that them! Thay are greedy stat hunters and need severe Coaching and mental reorganisation.Calvin Murphy is the one who can do it!

It's true, you can't just compare the numbers straight up. Remember, Ford led the nation in assists last year.

You could replace stoudamire with "francis" in that top statement also. That said, it doesn't mean Francis is bad, he just a different type player. Unfortunately, what people seem to be thinking (and I am inclined to agree) is that on previous Rockets teams, that role was what we needed from Francis, but that's just not the case anymore. And whether or not he can change is up in the air. I'd like to say he can, but is it really fair to ask of him?

Has anybody heard where TJ Ford might fall in the NBA draft if he were to come out early? I haven't heard any mention of him leaving early, but am curious to see where he'd end up in the draft. I would imagine he would be taken pretty quick.

I had a similar experience with Ford at Reliant Stadium at the Space City Hoops Classic this year.

The UH band was trying to set up, but Ford was in one of the tunnels signing autographs from fans up in the crowd.. Ford's bodygaurd was being a real jackass and pushing us aside as we were trying to take the floor to set up to play the UH/Baylor game.. as if we were going to try and beat up Ford with our instruments..

Ford needs a major ****ing attitude adjustment.. and that will probably happen when he rides the pine pony in the NBA for a decade or so.

He's quoted in SA Express as saying he'll stay his junior year, but I don't think anything is certain, expectly with a really bad draft this year.

Uhh...that sounds like more of a situation with a bodyguard, not tj ford...

But, yeah, Ford is good, and for me it's horns all the way, but Hollis Price is a warrior. He reminds me of juan dixon. how high you think he'll go in the draft?

I've heard anywhere from late first round to middle second round. I think he'll probably go early 2nd.
