Francis needs to shut up, and lay off KT, 2 for one post.

Steve Francis has got to quit running his mouth so much, today he talks smack to Kevin Garnett, and an invigorated KG helps lead the Timberwolves away from the Rockets.

Francis is a GREAT talent, and I love his heart and hustle. I just think he needs to quit jawing and start looking at the decisions he is making on the court.

First he gets KG all riled up, then he falls for a head fake for his 6th foul...(sigh)...I wish he could get his experience faster, he will be incredible in a couple more years, and he ain't bad now.

As for KT, many people, like Jeff have been down on KT for shooting too many 3 pointers....would it surprise you to know that he is shooting over 34% for the year?

    Take a look...

    http://www.clutchcity.net/players.cfm

In fact, KT is shooting WAY better then Mobley, Shandon & Moochie, so lay off. He is shooting the 3 just fine.

KT's pct is due mainly to his recent hot stretch over the last few games. 4 games ago, his pct was hovering around 30% but recently he has had a 4-8 stretch that caused his pct to go up. I seriously doubt he'll be able to keep up that hot streak.

    Dadakota,

I agree. I think that Rudy et all been talking to him about the 3 s also

Kt hesitated 2~3 times on 3 threes he should have shot
One resulted in a 24 second violation

BTW MMANUAL will never say anything good about KT

    River,

Not when it comes to matters like this. How can someone condone his 3 pt chucking? I need to provide the opposing viewpoint esp when people get duped into believing that KT can be the starter for the next 6-8 yrs.

Im gonna say this once, a pf should not be jacking up 2-3 three pointers a game..as for todays game minnesota seems to have our number.

Nowitski, Antoine Walker and Austin Croshere all play minutes at PF and are all in the Top 50 in 3pt %. The problem is not that KT shoots the 3ball (b/c he definitely needs it to keep taller players from giving him alot of space and rendering his moves useless). Remember, you only have to shoot 33.3% of 3's to equal 50% of 2's.

The real problem is KT's timing! I have seen him change or swing momentum with a poor choice. The Rockets live and die by the 3. It's a fact of life - get used to it. We are not an inside out team any more. It's now drive, draw, and kick out.

    Well,

I do not have a problem with him shooting 2-3 three pointers a game, especially if it keeps the defense honest.

KT can play, and the combo of him and MO is working real well.

By the way Robert Horry used to hit a lot of clutch 3's as a PF, a PF that shoots the 3 ball is a massive mismatch, and you know Rudy loves mismatches.

One question: What the hell is Kenny Thomas ever doing standing behind the three-point line in the first place?!

I was gonna say that if you hadn't. HE'S A POWERFOWARD NOT A SHOOTING GUARD! HE SHOULD BE DOWN LOW IN STEAD OF UP TOP. You guys are talking about him shooting because of miss-matches with bigger players. Instead of taken a low percentage three, why doesn't he drive to the basket?!

That's not the reason we lost. WHY ARE YOU INSULTING OUR SUPERSTAR? That's like if you're a Lakers fan and you insult Kobe or Shaq!

    Rocket Booster-
IMO, KT is at the 3 point line because the Rockets current offense is guard oriented with ISO's and 2 man games. There is more room for the guards to operate if he's out further. This is especially true if Dreams playing b/c Dream is still a low post threat and he and KT both down low clog things up. I'm not saying I like the ISO's or the 2 man games, but that's where we are presently.

We do not have a SuperStar on this team, we have some good young POTENTIAL star players, but NO ONE is even an all star yet.

who cares what postion you play? if you got the open shot and can hit a decent percentage then go for it. Its like saying hes a Point guard, hes not supposed to rebound. Its called expanding your game.

PS. If you guys don't understand spacing and it's importance to the game, then I will not waste my time explaining why our PF is behind the 3 point line.

Suffice it to say, that if Steve and Cat want to drive to the hoop, it is awfully clogged in there with a Center and PF in the lane all the time...comprende?

    DaDakota

PS 34% OF 3 POINTERS IS BETTER THEN 50% OF 2 POINTERS...

Ive always been kenny supporter. I dont care about his size or any other BS, he contributes when he plays. Dadakota, I completely disagree with you about Francis. Garnett even said they were just messing around. He said he's cool with Steve and Cat and they were just doing some playful trashtalking. He didnt rile him up . Also Garnett wasnt the one killin the rockets at the end of the game, it was their role players. Also, cat was doing the trash talking NOT FRANCIS. Cat was simply letting Garnett know he got blocked and it wasnt a foul. Also YES we do have an allstar on our team, steve francis. Whether you like it or not, he's in the top 20 in 4 statistical categories and brings so much to our team that doesnt show up in the stats. Anybody else notice how he's becoming more of a leader, callin for the team to huddle up. He is a top 5 guard in the west. Bryant, Kidd, Payton, Finley and Francis are the top guards in the west.

What if you're not making 50% of your 2 pointers?

    Dadakota,

Cuttino Mobley is closer to being a superstar than Kenny Thomas and will be a superstar before KT as well. This may be Steve's team but the CAT is the man in the 4th quarter. Like I have said in many posts before, the only person that can stop Cuttino is himself. NO ONE in this league can stop him, especially when his jumper is falling. A lot of times he does make bad decisions but he is learning when to make the pass ie., the Dallas game.

And as far as Francis talking noise, that is just a part of his game. That is what juices him up. I love it when he does it cause it shows his love for this game.

Dadakota, I clearly understand are offensive sets, as a matter of fact, I enjoy watching the guards display it's true effectiveness without the Dream on the court. I understand that most plays are run from the top of the key, high-post, high-screens, but most of Kennys three pointers are usually kick-outs from failed attempts to drive. So that means while The guards are driving, or making a move to get closer inside the defense, Kenny Thomas is parked behind the three-point line, where instead he could be drifting to the basket for a offensive rebound or a cutting lay-up.

Kenny Thomas has a lot of potential, and right now he's are best big man, thats why I hate to see him become complacent, and stationary behind the three point-line.
