Hey Guys.. Just an update I thought you would like to know. I saw Francis, Mobley and Cato at the Comets game on Saturday. It looks as if Cato has been working out this summer. Mobley was sitting with Francis and talking to Les every once in a while. Also Mario Ellie, Sam Cassell and Avery Johnson were also at the game. Just thought you guys would like to know. ------------------

For what it's worth, a friend of mine was at that game. He asked Cuttino to stay in Houston as they passed each other. Says Cuttino smiled and said, "Alright." ------------------

Don't these guys have anything better to do than suffer through a WNBA game? I can't watch women play for more than 5 minutes at a time. They are terrible! I use to live in Austin, and one of the local radio sports guys played pick up ball with me at the YMCA. He was a very average basketball player, and about 35 years old. As a publicity stunt, he challenged any woman in the Austin area to play him one on one. I think he ended playing around 6 women (all former college or pro players), with the last game against one of the all pros from that women's league that just folded. Needless to say, he won all 6 games. ------------------

DaDakota, what ever happened to Huge? The last time I was in Austin, he was off the air. Since you played against him, you know that he was just an average player. The fact that he beat an ABL all star after playing 5 one on one games says alot about the state of women's basketball. BTW, I only played at the Y in Austin about 20 times during the summer of 1997, so we probably don't know eachother. Keep up the good posting, you have some very interesting insights, imo. ------------------
Huge, or Bill Simonson is at 1 on 1 sports in Chicago. He has a national show, he guest hosted for that fabulous sports blob. He is doing well, and yes, he is an average player. Took too many shots, when I was open. DaDakota ------------------
Everyone has their own opinion but the Comets championship game was NOT boring. Comets regular season game crowds rival Rockets crowds during their championship run. If you can't get into a Comets game you just aren't trying. The Sparks game over the weekend was pretty intense. Quit comparing the womens game versus the mens game and you might enjoy it more. Let me ask you this? Who shoots better Free Throws? the Men, or the Women? I think you know the answer already. THe women have game. and they can play right now. It is not boring. They can shoot as well as most NBA Players. They just don't have the speed or Quickness to get as many open looks. That's why it appears the women can't shoot, and can't play, but they can. The Comets scored 115 points in 40 minutes. It was beatiful. The Rockets couldn't even imagine putting up numbers like that last year. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
When anyone else disses the WNBA nothing happens, but as soon as I say something I get bombarded. Comets Rule. Happy ------------------

I just wish I could see a dunk in the WNBA. I mean , I have had enough of watching these big women miss a layup and get the rebound and miss 3 putbacks in a row. It frustrates the hell out of me. Plus the women's game in my opinion isn't flashy enough outside of that Tisha girl. Also the dribbling in the WNBA is horrible, again outside of that Tisha girl. These girls dribble chest high, and most girls can't dribble with their left hand at all. Swoopes is a great player but her ball handling needs work. I just wish the WNBA players' skills were more polished and refined. It would be a lot less frustrating to watch.
Hey Old School for the record I saw Cato up close. Due to the fact that I was privelage enough to go below under the tunnel. So I really didn't need the glasses. But hey thanks for the thought. ------------------

The Women's game sucks, the only redeeming quality is that they run more pick and rolls. Watch their highlights on the commercials, and count the number of LAY UPS they show. Pathetic, when all you have to show is a halfway fancy lay up. Plus their ball is the size of a softball, sheesh, you want respect, play with a real ball. Now if Anna Kournakova played basketball, then you would have something !!! DaDakota ------------------
