Francis: JVG Lied to Me About the Trade

Didn't hear the quote, but was reported on ESPN Radio that Francis claims Van Gundy lied to him about trade speculation.

Francis also said he thinks the deal will go through and that he is happy to go to Orlando.

So to get back at him, he throws a hissy fit.

I don't know what's worse- the fact that JVG probably did lie to Francis, or the fact that Francis actually believed him. :)

Sounds like more trade prep and damage control, Jeff. And good news.

T-mac's unforeseen desire to be a member of your ballclub probably would make a liar out of every GM and coach in the league.

Does he have some sort of inborn fear of Ugandan giants? (God knows I do.)

I'm really curious to see if this is an indicator that Steve will be taking shots at JVG (and maybe the Rockets in general) on his way out. I doubt he'll have much bad to say about the Rockets in general. However, it wouldn't surprise me if this is only the start of multiple public anti-JVG statements by Steve. Maybe we'll hear about how things really were between them. The only thing that upsets me here is that I'm sure JVG will be taking the high road and not dishing any dirt on Francis, so it will be a one-sided picture.

Yes, JVG seems like a sensitive fellow. I hope his NYC-weakened feelings aren't hurt. ;)

Next year's first ORL-HOU matchup can't come soon enough. That's gonna be a hell of a game.

i neva trusted what JVG said. Remembered he said he didnt play John Amechi (anyone stills remember this fellow??) in the garbage minute because he is a veteran. Bull****, in honest JVG should say he sucks. That poor fellow then get traded and become the first rocket who neva played any minute in rocket uniform. SHAME!!!!
About JVG's relationship with SF, JVG always praised SF and claimed to be on the same page.... deep down inside my heart i know JVG is lying.....
Neva trsut what JVG have to say....

I don't know if it's true or not aboug JVG, but this was a great opportunity for STeve to keep his mouth shut, and try and take the high road.

Does anyone know if the interviewer asked him if Jeff had made any promises? Sometimes these comments are overblown because the interviewer asks them questions just to get these sort of answers. Jim Gray is the master of those types of questions, he's so good at times that no matter how you answer it it will create bad publicity.
