Francis said after the game he wouldn't mind playing the 2 next year. Answers a lot of questions we've had.
Calvin Murphy wants Steve to be a 2 guard? After todays game, Calvin and Bill were talking with Steve, and Calvin mentioned that he'd like to see Steve at the 2 guard. He made the point that other 2's in the league are taller, but Steve would have a quickness advantage......interesting. If nobody posts a direct quote, I can do it later. It just sort of came out, and wasn't a criticism of any kind, but interesting nonetheless.
Merge these please! Ya got beat by a few minutes. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53309 I like the team the way it is, if we don't make the playoffs (I think we will), then lets start talking about mixing things up.
Yea, ya have a better post then me so you got it. I just caught the end of it but Steve sounded like he would like to play SG so he can focus more on the scoring side which he is better at anyway. I guess he is starting to realize that he is a more natural two guard than a point.
I wonder what Cat thinks about this. This means that Cat is now the 6th man or is traded. My feeling is that its the latter.
a new Hakeem-Drexler Combo. + Rebounding and Blocking Machine EG + Nachbar + above average PG = 3-peat
Calvin Murphy himself stated something to the effect "I made a move from PG to SG in my career and it was the best thing that happened to me." He went on to discuss how bigger two guards were too slow to guard him and they would be too slow to guard Steve. Steve agreed and said something about how it would be "crazy" in that he could take all these players off the dribble.
Rudy probably would want to retain Mobley but if he can't do well off the bench he will be gone. If Francis moves to the 2 will Moochie be the starter at the point? We need an upgrade at the 1.
Cat is not good at creating opportunities for teammates. That's not a knock on him. That's just not his strength. A PG must be able to keep his teammates involved which is Cat's biggest weakness. He's very good at scoring off the dribble - that's not a PG.
umm, we are having enough growing pains with the situation we have right now. lets finish the season guys. thanks.
Well maybe not. Cat (or Moochie for that matter) is a worse PG than Steve although Steve would likely be a better SG than Cat.
I didn't see it and am going off what you guys are reporting, but I hope Steve and Murph didn't imply that the Rocks are better off with Steve at the 2 and Cat off the team. Cutting down a teammate is wrong for many reasons, and we need Cat if we're going to make the playoffs.
It would be great to pick up a true point guard this summer and move cat to the bench. Imagine having Cat, MoT and Cato coming off of the bench.
