I know that everyone will curse my name after saying this, but I think the Francis ejection is more good than bad. Before I continue, let me make it perfectly clear that I think the second technical was a BAD call. It should not be news to anyone on this board that our backcourt complains A LOT to the officials. Complaining to the officials is part of the game and can actually produce some positive results : fires up teammates, causes refs to second guess calls, leads to make-up calls (yummy), etc ... But at some point, complaining can prove detrimental to your personal image as a player and the image of the team as a whole. There is no doubt in my mind that we have been screwed by refs at the end of many games. However, there has to be a point where you shift your focus from complaining to playing. On any given night in the NBA, one team is hard enough to beat, we shouldn't make the mistake of playing against TWO teams every game. IMHO, this is exactly the type of situation the Rockets needed to : a) fire them up for the stretch run b) check their attitudes/complaining Before you haters begin to surface, let me tell you that this is NOT an anti-Francis/Cuttino/Rudy/Rockets/Calvin/Whatever post. I dig this team like a ditch, and I think we are playing great ball right now. I just think that a simple attitude adjustment will speak volumes on the team's maturity level. ------------------ word to your mother
A quick correction - the title of this thread should have read 'Francis ejection - not all bad'. ------------------ word to your mother
