http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/jan/04/francis-ready-to-tutor-young-grizzlies/ Pro-rated Francis had around $1.74M left on his contract. So the Rockets gave them the max cash considerations and Grizz profited by around $1.26M. The Landry pick which was first in the second round from Seattle cost $1M. While Portland gave up $3M as part of their deal to get the Rudy Fernandez pick from the Suns. The price paid to get under LT does seem high. Hopefully it won't affect any 2009 moves to get a draft pick. http://www.boston.com/sports/basket...09/01/04/help_wanted_but_theres_no_big_hurry/ http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/columnists/lawrence/
oh, two threads on this...one in the Dish as well. I'll repeat my post here then. So, now the Grizz can cut Francis at no loss, and we could resign him at the vet minimum after 30 days! oops, but I guess that's a loophole Stern needs to close, or does that loophole only count because we didn't get McDyess.
If Mourning was planning on a comeback the Rockets should have tried to grab him. Before Zo had his latest injury he was a much, much more effective player than Deke.
Mourning can't contribute at this point in his rehabilitation. If he were to comeback now it would be in the Barkley comeback role. 1 final play and then retirement.
didn't Les say we weren't in a "win now" mode? he said we could win the next 3-4 years with T-Mac and Yao.
