not sure if this has been posted but here's the link http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/fanball/20011226/fanball-rocketsthomasfrancis.html Rockets: Thomas, Francis looking to return by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Wednesday, December 26, 2001 News Kenny Thomas has returned to practice and Steve Francis is targeting Friday at Golden State for his return. Francis has missed several weeks of play with plantar fascitis in his foot. "Everything was better," Rudy Tomjanovich told the Houston Chronicle. "We went through a horrible situation. We still have some injuries, but Kenny will be back. And then somewhere down the early line Steve will be back. Just to have those days off, our bodies, even the coach's body, needed it. To have a fresh mental approach and something positive to talk about, we needed it." Views It seems a little overly optimistic that the Rockets will get Francis back late this week, but it could happen. Obviously, we'll keep you posted when/if he returns. Of course, his return would be bad news for Cuttino Mobley and Moochie Norris, as both would get less shots. Norris, in fact, is waiver bait upon Steve's return. ---------------------------------- what's the crap bout moochie maybe getting waivered?
that site's full of s***. I wonder myself about Francis coming back this week, if it's a little early and/or optimistic. But does the writer think so little of Cat and Mooch that they're SORRY Steve's coming back for taking away their minutes? They're still going to get their minutes, and even if they weren't, they're going to be upset after 15 straight losses without him? Cat wants to play, but the guy's still hurting. I don't think he'd mind taking it easy if he felt confident the team didn't need him for awhile and could get those W's. Moochie wasn't playing as well as we'd like, but that guy's on crack to suggest we'd flat-out cut a guy we just signed to a long-term contract. And if he wants evidence, he forgot the Chronicle article he got the info from quotes Rudy as being happy with Mooch and supporting him through the tough string of losses. That silly article didn't deserve such a lengthy response. Oh well.
Dunno if you noticed, but this little tidbit is from someone looking at the situation from a fantasy basketball perspective. In fantasy basketball, when Francis returns, Cuttino will get less shots, so his fantasy value goes down, as does Moochie's (obviously). That's all good for me, 'cause Francis is on my fantasy team!!!
thanks, i didn't realize it was a fantasy perspective either... i didn't check out his site, just thought that it was posted at a the sports.yahoo.com/nba article link so it was legit enough and most importantly, had info that francis is already going to be back on friday and kt is already healed up and maybe ready to go
