I was at the game tonight and have never been so ashamed to be a Rockets fan. With about 3-4 minutes left in the game, me, my brother and Teeloo decide to move down behind the Rockets bench. We wanted to get our moneys worth by booing the crap out of the Rockets. I am the kind of fan that will cheer our team whole heartedly if we at least show some kind of an effort during a game. But I will boo the crap out if we are playing some BS form of And1 crap ball. Anyways, when we get close to the Rockets bench I felt like kicking Cuttino's and Steve's ass. Their are some fans behind the Rockets bench who are yelling at Steve and Cuttino for their armband. Steve turns around and starts smiling and laughing like an idiot. At first he says no, but finally gives the fans his armband and is still laughing. Cuttino does the same thing a minute later. Maybe I'm the only one here, but I would be ****ing pissed if we are getting our asses kicked at home. This should have been embarassing for those two idiots and yet they didn't seem to mind that much. Yao on the other hand was holding his head in his hands and looking about as depressed as one could be. I have backed up our guards for way too long, but they are not showing any sort of maturity this season. Our backcourt was suppose to be our strong-point and one of the best in the league. Instead our backcourt has played stupidly most of the year and it is our front court (Ming, Cato, Posey and to some extent Griffin) that has to cover up their street ball crap they pull on the floor. In the third quarter the refs had some horrible calls (the second foul called on Cuttino when Finley got to shoot the three free throws) has to be one of the worst calls I have ever seen in my entire life. I was booing the refs left and right. Then I realized that the Rockets were not even showing any kind of an effor on the defensive side and they absolutely have no freakin idea on the offensive side. This is when I start booing the Rockets and people are actually telling me to calm down. Well excuse me. I have been a Rockets fan for the past four years and its safe to say the Rockets have to be the most unmotivated team in the NBA. If I'm paying good money for some season tix, the least the Rockets can do is atleast show up. This team is stealing money from its fans. Rudy (I love the guy) has the most unorthodox substitution patters I have ever seen. Why would you sit down Yao and Steve at the same time at the end of first and beginning of fourth. You have to leave atleast one offensive threat it. He does this every game and this is where we go on a complete offensive meltdown. Tonight Rudy also had no clue what to do on the defensive side. For just a few possesions in the second quarter Francis was on Raja, Cuttino on Nash and Posey on Finley. I thought that was the most brilliant thing Rudy could do. Francis is the worst defender of those three so he should be able to contain atleast Raja Bell. Cuttino would be able to harass Nash and Posey (our best defender) would be on their best offensive threat. The Rockets completely abandoned that in the second half. And can someone please explain to me why Cuttino was running to help out defensively on Steve Nash in the third quarter. Almost all of the three pointers Finley made were wide open looks. I am not defending Cuttino (he Sucked tonight! I admit it!), but whats he suppose do if the coach tells him to double team the ball. Maybe they should have abandoned that strategy when Finley had made I dunno three to four straight three pointers. But the Rockets would keep on making the same mistake over and over again. Cuttino was repeatedly double teaming the ball. I mean just guard your freakin man when he is in the zone. Let Francis worry about Nash. Francis and Cuttino talk all this trash about the Mavs and yet can't do crap. We have lost by an average of 18 pts to the Mavs this year. But I can bet one of these two dumb asses will have some quote in the newspaper tomorrow, "umm... the Mavs have alot to work on. they just got lucky on those three pointers because we like umm..werent defending them. oh yeah and they cant beat us without using the zone". HEY r****dS THE ZONE IS LEGAL THIS YEAR!!!!! My optimistic ass has taken a turn for the worse. Some changes need to be made. If we don't make playoffs this year then Rudy definitely has to go. Everyone knows Cat is my favorite player, but I would even trade his ass for a good point guard now. I am tired of listening to excuses ever year. There now I feel a little better. CAT SUCKS! FRANCIS SUCKS AND SO DOES RUDY!
Its kind of a lose lose situation if they dont give him the armbands than they're seen as jerks if they give it to them than they're not serious enough. what were they suposed to do ?
Sorry you had to witness that in person Rockets03, and you actually paid good money to see it. It looked to me like Steve Francis does not play with heart. To play like that in front of a home crowd is a disgrace. But the blame isn't completely on his shoulders. James Posey was an embarassment tonight. Very unprofessional of him to go off like that. This team needs help.
I wouldn't say Steve has no heart. It's just that he doesn't show it consistently. Remember the Lakers game? That was heart. Tonight? No heart. He's just not consistent. Inconsistency. That about sums up the season.
Not look cheerfull. Who the hell gives a crap about an armband. Give it to them or dont give it to them. I dont want to see them having a good time while the game is actually going on and we are getting our ass kicked by about thirty points! These two just don't care. They are making their millions, and unfortunately I think that is what they care about right now. I hate Iverson about as much as a person can hate another person. But even I will admit that he tries his best every single minute he is on the floor. The same thing can't be said about Francis and Cuttino. They don't give a crap if they lose. Or at least not that much. Yao was looking completely demoralized out there. I could tell he was actually sad and ashamed to be sitting right there. He is our only hope for the future. Cause that man does actually care.
I am sure you will calm down but getting it off your chest is a good feeling. I agree that the Rockets need to get something done by the trading deadline. I am sure Rudy T. sees what the needs are and he can not afford not making the playoffs again. No playoffs means no draft pick since we will owe it to Memphis, that would really suck not making the playoffs and not having a draft pick to make the team better. Knowing the Rockets something will get done(trade wise). I also get pissed when they loose games but I can't wait for the next game. I keep hoping things will get better. I waited 14yrs to see the Rockets win a Championship and I know I will not have to wait that long again. Although it has been 7yrs since the Rockets won a Championship. Keep the Faith.
There is a difference between Cat and Steve sucking and accusing them of playing streetball. I'm so tired of this street ball complaint. Nobody in the NBA plays street ball during NBA games. Sometimes I just get the feeling like if a player is young, black, and exciting he gets branded as playing street ball whenever he has a bad game. Watch NBA.comTV and watch those Rucker park games, that is street ball. When Steve and Cat start break dancing, doing the spider, and try playing peek a boo with the ball and their defender, then you can complain about street ball. Call a spade a spade.
So, I didn't really watch the Rockets in previous years... ... but I'm wondering, is it possible Rudy T. has made a deal with Cat to get him to buy into the system? To get Cat to pass up on shots when the starting lineup of SF/CM/YM are in the game (so that Yao actually gets to touch the ball every other quarter or so), he has to find Cat times on the court when HE gets to dominate the ball. That's really the only reason I can think of for benching Francis and Ming at the same time. I've found it mysterious for a long time. On the plus side, the pick-n-rolls where Yao actually sniffs the ball continues to grow in frequency.
Wow, the race card. How original. Jason Williams is another street baller. And he is white. Happy? Most of the players in the NBA are black. So the majority of the time you accuse someone of something chances are he will be black. And I dunno who told you Francis and Cuttino are exciting to watch. Watching paint dry is more fun and less excruciating.

A trade is not what this team needs.. Discipline and consistency is what this team needs... We dont have either but need both... We can trade for every allstar and still get the same results (see team usa) discipline is what we need....
Wow, thats all I can say. I admit, I was really pissed about the game, but in reality, we did lose to the best team in the league and have seen far worst defeats than this one. Mavs hit there shots, some spectacular ones i may add and thats all that can be said. Hell, I put the Clippers and Knicks defeats far worse than this one, because there is NO excuse for not beating those teams. But all I can say, R0ckets03, u opened alot of peoples eyes tonight.
Well this team has not gotten any form of discipline the last four years. Maybe it is the coach? God I love Rudy T, but the man's substitution patters absolutely baffle me.
Well, I am bitter after tonight's loss. WTF happened to our team after the intermission? I hate this "It's just a game" mentality. Hell, when you are getting paid by the millions, you'd better treat it like your life depend on it. Well, I just hope that Yao doesn't get disgusted with this loser mentality and decides to move elsewhere after his contract is done.
Couple things: 1. What was steve supposed to do, not give his armband? 2. Steve does play with heart. He may not play well, but dont mix that up with not playing with heart.
Yup I was at the game, all the way at the top so nobody can notice I was at the game. But what was pathetic was towards the end of the game, heard more cheers when the Mavs scored than when the Rocks scored. I guess thats all the Mavs fans that came to the game.
I mean, laughing on the sidelines while you're getting blown out? Somebody get these idiotic kids off our team. That's completely unacceptable.
1. Give the freakin armband. But don't joke and laugh while there is an ass whooping going on. 2. Steve might play with heart. I don't think he cares that much about losing though. Anyways, that aspect of his game is debatable. Whats not debatable is that the man plays the game without utilizing something called a brain. I mean even the most hardcore, diehard fans of Francis must admit that the man has sniffed a little too much glue for his own good.
