Boston: Steve Francis - 26, 9asts, 5reb Cuttino Mobley - 24 , 6, 6 Phoenix - Steve Francis - 19, 8ast, 5reb Cuttino Mobley - 30, 2ast, 5reb L.A. Steve Francis - 44, 11asts, 6reb Cuttino Mobley -29, 4asts, 4 reb, 3 steals For the week: Steve - 29.6 points, 9.3asts, 5.3 reb Cat - 27.6pts, 4ast 3-0 against playoff contenders. Now if Steve or Cat don't make POW something is wrong. They probably both will get it and if somehow we can get a few more wins in Jan, Rudy might get Coach of the month. Just think if we hadnt lost to G.S and Atlanta we could be undefeated for January and looking at a 10 game winning streak. If we can somehow win 1 of the next two I will feel real good about this team. (not that I dont already)
cato13, randon trivia time We are now 9-1 when they score 50+. And the Boston game was 1 pt away from making us 10-1.
Hey HP, why isn't Mobley listed in the top 50 scorers on NBA.com? he has played 30 games, and lord knows he's taken enough shots to qualify... what gives?
That would be crazy if the Rockets had two co-players of the week. BUT since Steve is superstar and had a career game against the Champs on nat'l tv, I would imagine that Steve will get it. But the NBA should give both of them a serious look. Rezdawg: Why are you still a junior member? LOL
he has played 30 games and has made 202 field goals. the closest player with the least amount of games played is Shaq, who has played 27 games but has made 267 field goals. Cat is avg. 18.6 ppg. any day now he will be on the leader boards.
the rule is you have to be on pace to play 70 games or score 1400 points. (Notice that 20.00 ppg for 70 games = 1400 points.) Mobley has played 30 out of 38 games and has 557 points, thus he can only miss 4 more games. The Rockets have 2.16 times 38 more games left, which means Mobley is on pace to play 64 games and score 1202 points, as of now. Mobley will have to play the next 17 games without missing one to be on pace to play 70 games, and qualify on games. To qualify on points, someone on pace to play less that 70 games has to be scoring over 20 ppg. So, unless Mobley starts scoring at Francis numbers, he'll qualify on games played way before points.
Nash, Dirk, Finley got Player of the week together when Dallas is winning like mad..... so Mobley and Francis might be able to get the honor together as teamates....
Houston Monday vs. Boston - WIN Mobley - 24pts, 9ast, 9-18fg Francis - 26pts, 6ast, 8-15fg, 1-2 3pt Wednesday vs. Phoenix - WIN Mobley - 30pts, 2ast, 9-21fg Francis - 19pts, 8ast, 6-13fg, 1-3 3pt Friday vs. Los Angeles - WIN(OT) Mobley - 29pts, 4ast, 8-17fg Francis - 44pts, 11ast, 12-21fg, 6-8 3pt Phoenix Tuesday vs San Antonio - LOSS(OT) Marbury - 29pts, 7ast, 11-26fg, 4-6 3pt Stoudemire - 24pts, 15reb, 8-19fg Wednesday vs Houston - LOSS Marbury - 32pts, 6ast, 12-29fg, 3-7 3pt Stoudemire - 24pts, 13reb, 8-21fg Friday vs Dallas - WIN Marbury - 41pts, 11ast, 15-28fg, 1-2 3pt Stoudemire - 8pts, 5reb, 3-6fg (only played 24 minutes?) Comparison for the week Francis - 29.7ppg, 8.3apg, 53.1FG%, 61.5 3pt% Marbury - 34ppg, 8apg, 45.8FG%, 53.3 3pt% Mobley - 27.7ppg, 5apg, 46.4FG% (also had 2.3 stealsPG and shot 53.3 3pt%) Stoudemire - 18.7ppg, 11rpg, 41.3FG% I think Mobley and Francis were the better players. Francis should be the player of the week, Mobley played EXCELLENT also. The deciding factor should be the team's performance. Houston 3-0, Phoenix 1-2. CASE CLOSED.
