Just heard that too. Not good news at all...in fact, that's downright horrible. We really needed this team working out together over the summer.

    dammit.

    That is BAD NEWS!!

Anybody think this will change draft night. If they decide to take Williams to trade, perhaps they will just keep him until training camp - until Francis checks out (then trade him). WE CANNOT GO INTO THE SEASON WITH MOOCHIE, WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GO BACK TO THE LOTTERY!!!!

He should be back by training camp...that is only until Mid September early October...at least it is not Iverson like, where he does it just before the start of the season.

Did he get the surgery on his inner ear too? That will cure the migraines.

Will this mean that we, Memphis, will get a top 13 pick this year? ... or are you willing to take the risk that we'll get your unprotected first round pick next year?

ummm...unless you expect them, Houston, to hand over their number 1 pick this year, than the answer clearly is no.

Bad news on Francis, but hopefully he'll get it healed well and be strong by the time the season starts.

Obviously we arent expecting to get the #1 overall pick but trading up from #15 to 12-13 should be relativly easy ... we'd happily wait though since we lack our own pick next year ...

I think people underestimate the difficulty in just trading and getting whatever pick you want wherever you want it.

Back to Francis: Hopefully he'll use his off time wisely. Rest. Study film. Stay in shape as much as possible. Etc.

This may actually be a blessing is disguise.

We all know how hard Steve works in the off-season, but do you ever wonder or worry that he may over-work his body?

At least he has a reason to just rest and recharge his batteries.

You are correct that the most important thing is for him to get his health back. While I despise the punk I dont want to see him injured ... :)

I bet this is a little over exagerated, just to bring more fears on draft day, that the Rockets could really take Jay Will.

I bet that Francis and his youth, will be back 1 week before Tranining Camp. And the positive part of him not playing is that unnessesary risks of further injury can not occur most likely.
Plus Francis also learns fast if he just watchs the game a little, He has always played on the court and learned this way, I think by watching a little ball from the sideline this will teach tons also. Hopefully new moves etc.

Aren't some of the fears a lil bit of an overreaction, i mean its not like he's gonna miss half the season.

Let's just hope he doesn't gain 70 lbs. Rox mgmt. should open a fat farm.

16-18 weeks? That's like 4 months off. He's gonna be rusty as hell when training camp starts.

The Rockets home page is reporting this as well, but says he will not miss any part of training camp. I think they may just want him to take it easy and get as much down time as possible.

He will not be rusty!! A real baller knows that it only takes a couple of REAL games in training camp to get your rhythm and a week or two for your wind to return. He WILL BE ALRIGHT

The only thing that kinda sucks is that he will not be able to work on his game with Cat and Moochie during the summer. BUT.....a plus in a way because we know he won't tear his leg up in a pick-up game!
