Well just found this on Rocket official site and I'm surprised Steve is giving Yao what we would all like to hear. Way to go Franchise, that's teh way to speak about your teammates and stick up for them.

Yeah you can't really stop McGrady.... what's he got, 4 points through 3 quarters against the T'Wolves?

Cat and JJax, watch the tape!!

Mind you, it probably means he'll explode against us for 40 odd...

Why are you suprised that Steve would say something good about Yao?

Or did I just really mis-read it?.......If so sorry, I've been drinking a little.:)

I imagine Steve said it with a slight smile at Yao. I love Yao as much as the next guy, but he's not better than TD... At best Yao's #4 ;)

id like to see us bust out some zone on this kid. let him go 2-10 then get pined only to sit there and smile and watch his team get obliterated.

Yes, I just learned that the zone defense bothers him..so why not use it against them tomorrow night?

It's nice seeing Francis say all the right things. I hope he truly means it and works hard to help Yao fulfill his potential. A good start would be to finally roll the ball back to Yao for once when Yao sets him a pick. I don't recall seeing the ball beng rolled back to Yao once, and we all know Yao can it that 15-foot jumper with ease or even better, drive to the basket. If he doesn't do his part helping the new guy out, all this is just lip service.

    I am just shocked.

He doesn't say Yao's name in a ranom interview, then he is disrespecting Yao.

He says something good about Yao in a random interview, then it is just lip service.

    I just don't get it.

    Please don't be. :)

Who said that? You mean somebody said that Francis is disrespecting Yao if he doesn't kiss Yao's donkey during every single interview? That's news to me, buddy...

I said IF Francis doesn't in good faith teach the big fella how to play with more passion and to help him gain confidence, then this is lip service. Whether it really is remains to be seen. Francis' statement is so obviously a gross exaggeration at this point, even though in my heart, I do believe that he said it in good faith as a complement to Yao's talents. At least until I see evidence to the contrary.

Maybe you will finally get it if you read the posts more carefully before making so many invalid assumptions.

once again, Francis doesnt understand the value of an inside presence. he forgot about Kg being ahead of Tracy. :) And what about Duncan? See, Francis is all about the style not substance.

    Just joking guys.:)
