http://www.foxsports.com/story/story.adp?contentId=186705 They think the Rockets will finish 6th in their division, have a losing record and of course miss the playoffs. I am very happy with our 1,2 and 3 positions. Is it that our 4 and 5 is that bad that we cannot make the playoffs?
Yeah but look at his picture at the top of the page: 1. He is bald 2. He has no teeth You cant trust the writings of someone like that. In summary: Mike blows.
6th in the DIVISION? Who the heck is writing for this crap for FoxSports? Like faker fan said we are definitely better then Nuggets who are without McDyess and have signed Rider out of all the people. Grizzlies are going to be sorry this year. They might be more exiting then before, but they definitely wont be better then us. Conference wise I think we will also be better then Warriors, Sonics, Clippers, Suns and T Wolves.
Well they were 5th in the division last year, and they lost their 2 best frontcourt players. Meanwhile the Nuggets, who were 6th last year, lost nobody. I don't see anything outrageous about the prediction. On the other hand, anything negative written about the Rockets can't be taken seriously.
I have to disagree. The Rockets lost an aging center that only produced from the all star break on. And they an additional 12 points a game with the loss of Mo Taylor. They did however gain a boost at the 3 spot with the addition of Glen Rice and added rebounding and shot blocking with Eddie Griffen at the 4 spot. Francis is and Mobley have had two years of playing together now and should be better than last year. On the other hand Denver has made no significant additions plus they have lost their best player for the first half of the season. A fact that Foxsports points out. Do you really believe that Houston will drop 10 extra games this year with their two best players healthy and the addition of Glen Rice and maybe the most talented player from this year’s draft on the team? Ten games appears to be a very big stretch to me. How could anyone predict that Denver will improve with the loss of its best player. Remember we won 34 games in Francis rookie season with basically no Dream and a Rookie in Kenny Thomas starting a lot of games at the 4. Certainly this years version of the Rockets are more than one victory better than that team.
Holy Cow foxsports net is still up. . . I was not aware of that. Seriously I am a net/sports freak and I dont go to foxsports they rarely have anything good there. I think the rockets are going to be fine this year. There is no way they will finish 6th in the division
I was optimistic when it looked like we were getting Marc Jackson. Now, I'm really worried about our frontcourt. I think there's a good chance that one of the four guys (of Cato, Collier, KT and Griffin) at the power positions will step up and produce, but highly unlikely all four will, and we really need all of them to produce and not be injured for more than short spurts no longer than what we've been experiencing this preseason if we expect our frontcourt to be able to compete. Compared to last year, I'd say our frontcourt at this point is definitely little better, if not worse. I just hope the Rockets can win as many as last year and maybe that might be enough for 8th seed this year.
you guys are so wrong. mike monroe is a genius and should be respected. listen to the man. he speaks the truth.
Take those opinions for what they are, opinions. I think if everyone stays healthy in the west, the Rockets can battle Utah, Portlan, Phoe, Minn, and Denver for positions 5-8. Denver isn't going to be as bad as people think because not Raef can play the 4. Phoe penny and Googs back so they are going to be ok now. Portland, is well portland. Minn will be playing Garnett at the 3 a lot this yr which means trouble for all 3's. Utah still has Stockton, Mailone and a pretty good supporting cast so they'll be in it. The key for the Rox is they must play consistent all yr to be in it. They can't hit those slumps and they must better the record in the didvision to be considered a threat. The easy wins against the east last yr will not be there and the first game of the season against Shareef and Co will be a true test. Only time will tell though.

Maybe this writer is still in pre-season form like I obviously am.
