HOUSTON -- Former Texas Tech quarterback Kliff Kingsbury has joined the University of Houston football staff in the position of quality control.

Kingsbury, who had a record-setting career with the Red Raiders, has been with the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Buffalo Bills in the National Football League. He spent the 2007 season in the Canadian Football League with Montreal and Winnipeg.

Kingsbury played at Texas Tech from 1998-2002.

"It's a chance for him to stay close to football," said Kevin Sumlin, Cougars head coach. "He can't work as a coach, but he can help us in other ways."

Nothing wrong with adding someone with football/offensive knowledge...Not sure what quality control is, probably just throwing him a bone...
