Dude on Fox Sports Southwest mentioned a possible Mavs/Rockets swap that would involve the 23rd pick for 40 and 54 and maybe cash.

    Good deal or bad?

What would we do with the 2nd rounders? Draft guys that we can send off to develop?

I know that Dallas is trying hard to weasal their way into first round. But that trade makes no sense for us. Not too many Mobleys @ 40 and 54. Besides, how many new players can we afford?? [IMG]

If we don't use the 23 with another pick to move up, I like the deal. There are no guarantees, of course, but there are going to be some very good prospects in the 2nd round. Second round picks don't get as big of contracts and they are not guaranteed.

The Rockets have had good success in the second round and, it really doubles their chances of getting a steal.

In my mind, there is less risk with greater chance of reward.

This deal would likely mean that they don't feel like they will be able to move up. Who are the picks they get with #13 and #18? Should they go for the big man first, or the shooter? And maybe they could pick Alton Ford eith the #54.

What if we drafted VRad and Woods in the first and Morris and KJohnson dropped to the second. How would you like to take a chance on those two for the price of the 23rd? Suddenly that deal doesn't look bad.

Personally I would prefer a second this year and a conditional future 1st.

Me too. I don't agree with trading a #1 for two #2's. Cash shouldn't be a factor in trades.

I agree. That's what I'd shoot for. The knicks are offering 2 second round picks(#39 & 43) & the rights to some French player(Frederic Weis) for a mid first round pick.

Unless we could get a decent future first round pick, I'd take this offer. Does anyone know anything about Weis?

He sucks, we should have taken Artest, and he is the HUMAN poster most known for the leap-frog Carter dunk!

He's lazy, too. He always makes an excuse not to come to training camp.
