Do we really want to take the best center in the NBA and make him a jumpshooting stiff? Seriously, I don't ever want to hear Brad freakin' Miller and Vlade freakin' Divac mentioned in the same sentence as him.

Thanks paultherad for the heads up.

Now I wonder if Tmac was kidding or not. Maybe its not Adelman's fault after all, Yao just wanted to step out sometimes and take a few jump shots.

he should if he struggles in the low post sometimes or can't get any touches playing v. small teams.

ABCDEF, stop beating this to death. do u want yao to not touch the ball when we play golden state or phoenix? do u want him to constantly get punished if he plays a team like utah who knows his moves at times?

he'll be in the low post. but for stretches when even he sucks in the low post, u want him to go outside to get his touches and open up the space for tracy and others.

so relax. you've been complaining over just freakin' preseason games.

    my goodness.

It's only the start of the season. If it doesn't work out they can just change it. Vlade could play in the paint and knock down jumpers and he did both. Great passer as well.

Wow, this is the first article i've seen Yao ranked #1 in center ranking. Everyone else ranks Amare as #1. Finally some love from the media.

It is so called the experimentation. you give a try, if it is not working, then try different way. We all know that Yao's low post game can not dominate Okur.

What zong said is not really that bad. An idiot with the name rofflesauseretard will take it a step further and tell you Okur dominated Yao.

    I know.
but if you ask any non-rockets fan who has watched the Rox Jazz series, they still considering Yao dominating.
I guess its our people who put too much on Yao and he didnt live up to the expectation last season.

Yao'll make us proud, very proud this season.

Not if Adelman keeps him in the high post. Then the torrent of haters will be back and again proclaiming that Yao is the next Shawn Bradley, a big Chinese stiff, and a horrible bust.

Not saying what happened in Utah won't happen again, because it might... but we know what will happen if the offense is run the same way as it was in the preseason, and it was downright ugly.

yao might not be as dominant when he steps out to make room for others,
but that might be whats necessary to take us to the 'next level'.

how often have you been frustrated as yao seems slow and doesn't seem to deliver in the clutch? sometimes he does, but other times its an off night for him and he isn't getting it done in the clutch. taking him to the high post is an alternate for him, opens it up for others - and yao can hit those shots, he will be automatic at it by playoff time with his work ethic and shooting skill.

but yes, i too would be upset if yao didn't also get his chances to dominate in the paint. you'ld have to be stupid to take those oportunities away from yao, and RA isn't going to do that.
