Fox Sports has the Rockets 8th in their power rankings, with Phoenix, the Cavs, and the Mavs ahead of us. Those are terrible rankings. Phoenix has lost Amare for a good chunk of the season, the Mavs are still the same old Mavs minus Finley, and the Cavs are not going to be that good. Granted the Cavs have improved, but how can they rank them ahead of us. The additions on our team are pretty significant, not to mention that Yao and Tmac have a full season under their belts together. And the Pacers third? And the Grizzlies 10? What do you guys think? I think we should be at least 6th on that list. RANK TEAM 1. Spurs 2. Suns 3. Pacers 4. Pistons 5. Heat 6. Mavericks 7. Cavaliers 8. Rockets 9. Nuggets 10. Grizzlies 11. Kings 12. Timberwolves Link
I don't have any problem with the Pacers being ranked third. We're talking about a team that took the Pistons to game 7 minus Ron Artest. They've added Sarunas and Danny Granger (who looks fantastic). I think they may be the best team in the East. The Cavaliers ahead of us is silly. They haven't proved anything, and even with their additions we're better on paper. Our record was far superior to theirs last season and we improved. That's just nuts. I like the moves they made, and I definitely think they'll make the playoffs, but to put them ahead of us is crazy. The Mavs took yet another step backwards when they lost Finley. I don't see how they're ahead of us either. I'm of the opinion the Suns were destined to disappoint this season even without an injured Amare. I didn't like the moves they made at all. With Amare injured, they could be a lottery team. I like the Kings better than the Grizzlies. I'd probably rank them as follows: RANK TEAM 1. Spurs 2. Pacers 3. Pistons 4. Heat 5. Rockets 6. Mavericks 7. Cavaliers 8. Suns 9. Nuggets 10. Kings 11. Grizzlies 12. Timberwolves I kind of want to put the Suns lower, but it just seems insane to put a 60 game winner lower than 8. I suppose I'll give them the benifit of the doubt for now, but I honestly won't be surprised if they fall all the way out of the playoffs.
who cares. anyone who ranks the rockets any lower than 2nd best in the west are fools. i dont mind detroit, indiana, and miami ahead of us.
It's wierd how the East has suddenly become more legitimate, while the West powers (outside of Houston and San Antonio) have become stagnant or started to diminish.
