8. Houston Rockets — Shelden Williams ?Power Forward ?Duke
The Rockets quickly will need a replacement for the inept Stromile Swift and the ancient Juwan Howard. Shelden Williams is the answer, although the Rockets are showing a ton of interest in J.J. Redick at this point. In my opinion, they have a bigger need for an inside presence to compliment Yao Ming than they do another shooter. Hell, they have Tracy McGrady, Derek Anderson and Rafer Alston, while David Wesley and Richie Frahm are free agents. On the big-man side of things, they have Swift, Howard and Chuck Hayes to help out Ming. You have to think the Rockets would struggle with the idea of passing on Williams (and all the blocks and rebounds that come along with him) if he's there with this pick.
