The Dime Crew has a ton going on. We actually spent yesterday with the NBA's rookie class as they gathered to shoot flix for their basketball basketball cards and to test the new NBA Live game from EA Sports.

We hung with Chris Paul (who loves the new issue), Raymond Felton (who also loves the issue), Deron Williams, Marvin WIlliams and the rest of the new school. We got some great stuff and we'll definitely drop some solid Q&A's on you throughout the next couple of days. Keep checking back. ...

All of the players have taken to calling Nate Robinson "50" because they think the two look alike ... At the end of the day, there was an NBA Live tournament set up for the rookies. It came down to Sean May (as Charlotte) and Julius Hodge (as Denver) in the finals. After realizing that Sean struggles mightily to make fouls as Raymond Felton, Julius intentionally fouled Felton every time he touched the ball. It worked, as Hodge took it in OT to win himself a leather NBA at Home couch, a new Xbox 360 and other prizes ...

We've been asked a million times in the last 24 hours about where we think Shareef will now end up. We've heard the love for the Kings from camp Shareef and we've heard that Sacramento loves him right back. Shareef's fantasy value would explode in that system. ...

The Sixers announced yesterday that Willie Green would undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Tuesday by sports doctor to the stars, Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama. Seriously, how much does Andrews make a year? And does he have any normal patients? How about a Dr. Andrews reality show? ...

Houston is bringing back Dikembe Mutombo (two-year deal) and Jon Barry (one-year gig) to keep team chemistry in check. H-Town is quietly having a huge offseason. Could be an exciting year in Houston with both an improved team and the NBA All Star game. ...

What is it going to take to end the Joe Johnson saga? ...

We usually try to avoid Times Square at all costs. It's just too touristy, and way too busy. But sometimes it is unavoidable - like yesterday. Wow did we get lucky. We were in a cab and looked out the window (also unavoidable in Times Square) and saw tons of ridiculously hot women in their underwear (okay ... there were some men too). Turns out it was National Underwear Day. Yes, you should mark your calendars. ...

We're out like clothes in Times Square.

I'm not exactly in Dime Mag's target geographic, but I think their writers are great. I've loved Dime Smack on the FOX site since Yao's rookie year when he described his performance against some guy (I don't remember who) as "like eating a huge delicious meal" (something like that). And Dime replied by saying "We all here just love this guy". It would be very interesting for Yao to do an interview with Dime at some point.

On a related note Les would be wise to drop some cash and have Yao and Barry doing an impromptu two hour smack-off and just edit it to hell and then make commercials. That would sell season tickets. :D

Tim (if you're out there) you've got two of the wittiest guys in all sports on our team. When are you going to start capitalizing?

Tim is no longer with the Rox. He's at NO. You should read Doc's "My Rant" thread a few weeks back, as he explains why Tim, and lots of other senior staff, we admire have left thr organisation... I miss Tim, an excellent VP of marketing
