Uhhhhh ...NIKEstrad wins!!! http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61058 http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=61057 You must have beat them by seconds. You know you are a Rocket addict when ...........
All little guards being targetted to use most if not all of the MLE. And at the same time Ewing saying that Yao needs a physical PF to play alongside him. Methinks Mooch and/or Cat is gone in some sort of swap for a big bad PF. Or at least I hope
I think the lesson today is the Rockets are going to talk to every freakin' free agent guard out there and we shouldn't get our hopes up when we hear each name.
I would love to add Daniels to our Roster. He's a big guard, who can score.Plays pretty good defense as well.
We need a good pressuring small guard like Armstrong. Is Antonio any good defensively? He's not a bad offensive guy...
Man! What do these guys have? A Rocket AP News Scanner that notifies them by email, satellite, beeper and a phone call that a Rocket story was posted to the internet? Heh heh....
Daniels was hidden on the Trailblazers bench last year. We need competition at the guard positions this season to keep Steve and Cuttino in check. The last thing I want to see JVG subjected to is stuck playing those two when they lapse into some temper tantrum on the court after foolish fouls, turnovers, or being lite up.
boooo. Another sg who pretends he's a pg. From what I remember, wasn't that great of a character guy either. Better than Mooch, but that's a pretty low bar.
Sorry I didn't catch this earlier. Is he quick enough defensively to hold is own against the quick point guards that we always have problems with?
codell- Haha, I guess, I saw the Berman preview, and figured I should beat Faos to it. Anyhow, the details- "Sources" told Berman that the Rockets expressed interest in Daniels to his agent Tony Dutt. The Rockets have asked Dutt to "keep them in the loop" regarding Daniels' status. According to the report, Daniels has received interest from many teams, including Cleveland, Orlando, Miami, Boston, and I don't remember the rest. I think this indicates the Rockets plan to address the backcourt and/or its depth via free agency (perhaps we should watch whether NY buys out Ward making him a free agent?); I suppose the frontcourt is addressed via trade or not at all? Daniels is interesting. He's not a true point, but has the size to play both guard slots. For his career, he has a solid ~2.6 AST/TO (not Ollie's 4.0, but hey). He was traded to Portland in the Kerr/Barkley deal, and didn't get much PT. He's averaged around 45% FG% most of his career, which is pretty good. He's a good slasher but his outside shooting is inconsistent. The year before he was traded from SA, he shot below 30% from the arc; the year before that he was over 40%. If the over 40% is the real Antonio Daniels, he provides athleticism and size from the PG slot, plus a shot, and a steady hand in the backcourt. I wonder if tomorrow is Tyronn Lue's turn to be mentioned by Berman.
He can play pretty good defense. I'll think he'll have trouble with some of the quick point guards but will play way better defense than Francis.
Now we know why Moochie made his opinions on the uniforms known. Moochie (w/ the voice of Urkel): Guys. I uhh... rweally like the new uneyforms. Les: Thanks Mooch! (turns to Carroll) Carroll, I was thinking that maybe we don't have to tr.. Carroll: Leave it Les! Leave it! Les: Ruff!
Actually, it looks like BMW3 beat them all, but he didn't put it in a new thread: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=60979&perpage=30&pagenumber=3
