"Back then they didn't want me, now I'm hot they all on me", the Rockets replied in an official press release.

Sounds like Ralph's way of saying "I need a job!".

Hold on now. Nothing wrong with Ralph trying to get a job. He is a basketball hall of famer, and is one of the more prominent players in Rockets history. If the Rockets had some job they could give him I think that would be a good thing.

I would love for them to bring Ralph into the fold. Maybe as a skills coach or a PR guy.

At the same time, the Rockets had nothing to do with Sampson until they were trying to lure Dwight. All of a sudden it was look at out legacy of bigs. Remember the Twin Towers how awesome they were. Ralph Sampson come to the Dwight rally.

Plus, Sampson is willing to be coach of RGV... an NBDL team. So it isn't like he's looking for a cushy job with the Rockets. He seems to be willing to start from the bottom.

Hey man, everyone needs a job now and then. Bring him on! Have a feeling he wouldn't cost much more than BJ Young, so make him an advisor like Dream: coaches them in Houston, doesn't travel to away games. . . . Surely he's got something to contribute.

He could show Jeremy Lin the finer crafts of playing point guard.

I hope the Rockets find him something in the organization. I'm a big fan of Ralph's and recently watched game 5 of the '86 Western Conference Finals again, when we eliminated the defending champions, those Lakers that watched Dwight go to Houston. Ralph was huge in that game. He played 45 minutes, was 10-15 from the field and 9-11 from the line, with 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Only 5 rebounds, way below his average, but it was just that kind of game. Oh, and The Shot for the win.

I am a fan of Ralph also, but..... What can he offer that McHale, Hakeem and Camby cannot?

Its just seems like the Rockets have the big man tutorial and leadership roles filled.

Not to mention he played with passion that night and took over leadership of the team when (H)akeem was ejected for fighting with Kupchak. And the The Shot. All in all, a pretty badass night for Ralph.
