Berman said Padgett opted out of his contract to explore other teams. He says that still wants to resign with the Rockets and calls his 2 years with them the best he has had in the NBA.

I don't think Padgent will be back.

With the talk of Sura getting traded, and given Barry's age, the White Boy Super Squad may be coming to a end. :(

Scott, you are a nice guy and we were glad to have you on the team this past year. Don't let the door hit you. Good luck next year wherever you play.

He obviously wants more money and he definitely deserves more than $870,000. I hope we resign him, especially when we have crapshoots like Baker, Spoon, and Mooch quadrupling what he makes.

Padgett beat Stephon Marbury and the Knicks on a buzzer beater, for that I will always remember him.

Even though he stunk in the Mavs series, we need guys like Padge. If he asks for more then 2 million per year, pass on him. Below that, give it to him but not for max years, maybe for 2 years. I still can't believe someone like Mooch makes more then Padge, who is a way better role player. Nice to have buddies like Stevie Franchise to pressure the team into giving you FYM.

I don't think it's a money thing, more like a playing time thing. He isn't going to get anything substantially better on the free agent market, it's not like he played that well this year. The rox will be bringing in at the very least another quality pf to split time with Juwan Howard, if not steal the position outright. The swingmen will probly be upgraded somewhat as well, not that it matters since Tmac will be getting most of the sf minutes anyway.

That leaves him with even less of a chance at seeing pt next year than he did this year.

He did a fine job for us, but I'm kinda glad we wont have to see him on the court for the rox again.

Wont be too much longer til Mooch, Baker, and Spoon are gone too, then we can start loading up on real prospects.

Well I wish him good luck on his endeavors to get paid. I'd be pissed too if I looked up and see Adonal Foyle making 7 mil per year doing as much--if not less--work than I am.

No Bird rights. His minimum can't be over the 870, so -- does he resign for that with three years, or elsewhere? Might someone give him a piece of the MLE or smaller exception?

Scott 'The Body' will be missed. But not much.

i agree with crisco, this has to be about playing time because i don't see him pulling down that much more than he opted out of.

he played his role well last year but it's doubtful the rockets want to spend extra money just to bring him back.

I'm gonna miss Scotty :( I thoight he brought a lot of smarts and versatility to the 4 spot...but I do believe that this was a matter of getting more playing time elsewhere than it was about money...

Guys like Scott are your 10th 11th man. Not your primary backup 4 in the West. Good luck, chances are he probably wont get anything significant
