No big shocker here, but as I was dozing off to the Simpsons just now KRIV Houston broke in with breaking news about Deke. Mutumbo has told his agent to get a 2 year deal done with the Rockets, as it is the best deal for him and his family. Fox reported that it should be finalized by next week. Kind of surprised me that they would interrupt programming with relatively minor sports news. Good for Rockets fans though! Tune in at 9 and I'm sure they'll have more.
Beat me by a minute: I was watching the simpsons when they did a breaking news thingie on Fox26 about mutumbo signing a 2-year contract with the rockets. Mutombo says it would be a good move for him and his family. His agent just has to work out the remaining kinks. More detailed report on fox news tonight

I don't know what is more news worthy: Deke will sign for a two year deal (discussed here on CF.net for months) or that Fox news breaks into the Simpsons with this.
Was Deke the best back up center in the NBA last year? I don't know how the numbers break down, but Deke came in and he made a difference with his rebounding and shot blocking. The only thing we loose with Yao on the bench is his scoring.
Only Faux "News" WOULD break into the Simpsons... Oops, not the D&D. I am thrilled that Deke is directing his agent to get a deal done with the Rockets. Deke knows his place in the rotation and excels at his role. He is tenacious and tough and he brings it every game. That cements what will probably be the best frontcourt in the NBA unless TMac moves to the SG spot.
