    OK, here it is...

    CD and Lindsey will meet with Mike James in Las Vegas on Thursday, and the Rockets so far are offering their MLE to Mike James, the only question is in regards to contract length.

    Moreover, the Rockets apparently have interest in Marcus Banks and have contacted his agent.

    Oh yah, it was reported by Marc Berman, so you know it's money, this is not ABC13 getting their Rockets news from realgm or hoopsworld.

    I hope CD gets mike james drunk then make him sign the contract. I think thats what Jerry West did with the Stro/Gay trade.

    Good news.....I have no doubt they will get it done. (Well....my faith in the Rocket brass is not good now. Mrs. James is behind this deal)

    Hopefully its a sign and trade.


    on another note
    *is Lorenzo Wright worth 2.5 or 3 mil a year if we do get a sign and trade done with James?*

    I have a feeling that it was Speedy Claxton going to Atlanta that might have pushed the two sides to meet up this early in free agency.

    If it really came down to Dallas and Houston James would pick Houston because he gets the same amount of money and he would probably start when in Dallas he'd be behind Terry.

    Yes L.Wright is worth the 4.2 M TE in my opinion.Banks played PG for the Wolves.

    good to hear hopefully we can have him "signed" by the weekend.

    as for banks i am not sure why teams are so enamored with him i havent really seen anything out of him to make me want to drop any money on him (if i were a gm).

    young can develop into a decent guard but not worth the chance here imo, go for someone who will be able come in and contribute.

    they stated they would meet in las vegas b/c of the summer league. so does that mean we(summer league team) will play this coming week?

    Last year they showed las vegas summer league on NBATV so i hope they do the same this year. I would really appreciate it if someone who knew the schedule could post it for me. thnx in advance

    If the Rockets managed a sign and trade deal with Toronto for Mike James where all they give up is say the TE and cash considerations, maybe a second round pick and then used the MLE to add Marcus Banks and somebody like Jared Jeffries, I'll go ahead and forgive them for the Gay debacle. We would then have a whole lot more depth and be MUCH better next year.

    Marcus Banks is a player that I think will develop into that Marbury mold. He just muscles his way into the lane and can jump and hang forever. If he really jumped that mental gap last season in Minny, he can be a good player at the point.

    I have no doubt in my mind Mike James will be a Rocket by thursday afternoon. Adding Battier,James, and hopefully Marcus Banks would definetly give us what we need to compete with Dallas,San Antonio, and Phoenix. See I told you guys have faith in CD HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. Go Rockets!!!
