I guess it has just been circulated since then (maybe??). The series date said 1935 and it just looked different...so I assumed it was from then. Anyone think it's real or that I should keep it?

Make sure its not a silver cert or a Hawaii dollar. Those can be worth some money. If its in good shape, and just regular, it'll be worth a little more than the $1 printed on it.

I always hold on to interesting things like that. It may have been in circulation, or it could have been stuffed in some old lady's matress since the depression, or even in a safe deposit box.

Heck, old, rare and valuable coins and bills often get back into circulation due to theft or someone's estate being split up amongst people that don't know any better.

I got all pumped up the other day because I found a German coin with a swastika dated 1944 during WWII. I figured this HAS to be worth something, right?

Yeahhhh.....coins like the one I found are going for $1.99 on eBay right now.

Well, it's obviously worth something then.

That's pretty. I'd keep it if it's valuable. I once found a quarter from 1934. I tried using it in a vending machine but it kept rejecting it. Then I looked at the date and it was practically faded and had no ridges.

Depends on what kind it is.

If it is a silver certificate it is worth around 10 bucks, and if there are stars around the numbers probably worth more.

Ok, I guess I need to clarify because I'm not even sure if it's from 1935. I am only assuming that it is because the Series says 1935. It's a paper dollar bill, and the outside bordering just didn't look the same. Is there any way to tell?

If it's Silver Certificate, it'll say that on the top of the face side. And if it's a star version, there will be a star on the left side of the numbers on the right side of the face side of the bill.

Thanks, Lil Pun. I needed that assurance. :p

I just mean, for a $1.99 that's hardly worth the trouble of trying to sell it or anything. My dad collects coins so i'm just going to give it to him.

Don't sell it! You can get a 20 minute phone call with it using 10-10-220.

I think it is totally cool that you found something that has been in circulation for about 75 years.....that is amazing.

I guess those out of circulation Nazi coins aren't as cherished as you'd think.
