<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/O7ijukNzlUg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This movie has totally changed the way I think about protein. I like meat too much to go vegan but I do plan to cut down my meat consumption.
Is this a movie based on the book "The China Study?" Seems like it. I don't think it's any big secret that cutting out meat and processed crap will result in a healthier body with substantially less disease. The challenge is actually going through with it. I read something once that said high-carb salty snacks like cheesies were just as addictive as crack cocaine. I do think that fast food needs to be more regulated than it currently is. That stuff is pure poison.
Part of it is based on the China study which is the largest statistical study ever done on cancer. It was essentially all of china and they pinpointed certain regions of china with the highest occurrences of cancer (hundreds of times more likely than other regions) and figure out what was different about those regions versus others. It conclusively linked it to diet and mostly animal product consumption. The also pointed to the rate of heart disease in Norway during the German occupation. When the Germans took all the livestock, the rate of heart disease in Norway plummeted. It increased back to normal rates after the end of WWII.
americans don't like vegetables that much and often get ROYALLY PISSED if you tell them to go more plant-based... gimme my 8 prescription pills, but don't take away my red meat!!
The first thing they show in that clip is a bunch of fat Americans. You're deluded if you think they got that size from eating a lot of meat. There's definitely something wrong with our diet - but it's the processed food and sugar that got America fat and diabetic. Now, if you combine a lot of sugar with a lot of stress (whether that stress is from work or family problems, both of which are endemic in America), you get heart disease. Eat natural food and get off your ash once in a while, you'll be fine.
The healthiest people I know are all about moderation. Eating in moderation, drinking in moderation, and exercising in moderation.
The show is not about being fat or skinny. Its about disease and cancer. The study show that some areas of china were hundreds of times more likely to get cancer than others because of nutrition. You can the fittest person in the world and get cancer.
Obesity Diabetes Heart disease Hypertension Have not seen the movie, but the clip you posted talked 95% about the above.
Who cares? I'll take happiness over living past forty any day! You can eat and still be fit you know... All you religious nutjobs and vegans can have fun in whatever afterlife you think of; but I'm enjoying my life right now!
Well not to brag, but I've gone from 190 to 128 over the past 5 years and currently run 4 miles every morning. I've emphasized more leafy green vegetables and unprocessed whole foods at every meal. Still a work in progress but I bet I'd take my current level of fitness over yours.
Now don't get me wrong guys. If you are eating meat non-stop and weigh 400+ pounds, then you are the bane of this country. Eating whatever the hell you want is fine, just exercise moderately. PLEASE.
