So I definitely think we are one piece away from being a serious contender and we will be a playoff team for years to come - we have enough assets to bring in a superstar as long as we don’t give up too much. But instead on focusing on someone like Giannis or KD, what about Cooper Flagg? He is supposedly going to be the next big thing and he should be an immediate starter and contributor. Of course, there’s still a chance that we win the lottery and he falls into our lap. However, if we don’t win the lottery, what would it take to obtain him? Jalen Green + Cam Whitmore + our first round pick in 2025? Is that too much or not enough?

    Sengun
    Smith
    Flagg
    Thompson
    Van Vleet

Subs are Adams (assuming he re-signs), Brooks, Eason, Sheppard, and another FA pickup who can play the 2 spot.

LOL you're not getting him for nothing. A realistic offer would be something like amen plus 3 firsts.

Not a single team would trade Cooper Flagg, especially for a scrub, a head case with no brains and a terrible pick. Also, this sure looks like a random trade idea, right?

Cooper is harder to get because you would have all the bad and mediocre teams all over him .....instead of just the contenders.

That seems a lot for a guy that has never played in the NBA. Amen is untouchable- maybe Jalen, Cam, and 3 firsts…

I say forget about trading for Cooper Flagg because whoever wins the lottery won't trade him. Period.

Well there's a reason you want him.....him having never played is irrelevant. I'm not saying i would do it, i'm saying that would be a starting point as an offer. My guess is that wouldn't get it done though, but your offer of "hey can we have flagg for free" is absurd.

I never posted that we could get him for free - it definitely will take a lot to get him and we do have the assets. If Thompson has to be part of the deal, then I would say no.

This is the dumbest cf thread of all time… and that’s saying a lot.

This thread is embarrassing because it’s serious… not even trolling…

A clear cut number one pick is rarely traded. Perhaps it would matter who is at that pick. For instance Utah is not trading a white American potential superstar for anything. They probably would not even trade him for Wemby.

it would make it more feasible if the Rockets made it to pick 2-3 in the is draft then trade the Nets swap Mavs swap Suns pick and like a pick not a few of their own.

What? You posted Jalen Green + Cam Whitmore + our first round pick in 2025? Is that too much or not enough?

Is that too much? You asked if getting him for free basically is an overpay lol

The only way the Rockets, or anyone else, gets Flagg is by winning the lottery. Forget about it happening via trade thats ridiculous.

I mean I get it - Jalen has been a disappointment but I would not necessarily think he is garbage.

Even if you don't think he's garbage, he doesn't have any value on his 20% of the cap deal. He's somewhere between overpaid and way overpaid. Amen is probably the only player who moves the needle in any way for a flagg trade, i don't think sengun even moves the needle. It's a joke offer man.....like that package won't get you from the 9th pick to 4, let alone flagg.

I don't understand this. Our team is literally one piece away from a western conference semifinal or potential western conference final.

I would argue if Jalen Green was playing average basketball we would be in the semifinals already. The rebuild is almost complete we just need star talent now to pair with Amen and Sengun.

Imagine being a fan of the team that wins the lottery and believing you are getting cooper flagg, only for your gm to turn it into Jalen green, cam whitmore, and a few picks…

there’s a reason you like that trade and fans of the hypothetical team would not…
