AVON LAKE, Ohio — Ford workers in Avon Lake were notified by letter from United Auto Workers leadership in Detroit that the automaker is not planning to bring a new line to their Ohio Assembly Plant (OHAP) but instead moving that production to Mexico.

The letter from UAW Vice President Gerald Kariem stated that at the heart of the last contract with Ford signed in November 2019 was to increase job security and Ford, in turn, responded with a commitment to invest $900 million into the Ohio Assembly Plant, some of which was for “next-generation product to be added in 2023,” he wrote.

We can't go back to the fifties when made everything including all the money

We were the last man standing after Wii. Everyone else that mattered had to rebuild their countries first

    Capitalism is based in economics.

Supply and Demand is based in n Economic theory

Economics is based in human behavior

Wouldn’t buy a Ford made in Mexico for at least five years so that all the kinks are ironed out.

I haven't looked into it, but how much of their production in Mexico (or Canada or Europe or SA or China...) is sold there, vs how much is shipped back to the US?

All the cry about making immigrants US citizens paying taxes is a smokescreen for keeping them over in Mexico where they can outsource jobs cheaper and keep their cheap labor to themselves instead of giving Americans the jobs. I'm disappointed in Ford for taking this route.
