Who provides your electricity, what's your square footage, and how much do you usually pay?

Also, don't hesitate to share your usage habits such as running the computer 24/7, leaving lights or ceiling fans on when not home, and of course how often and at what temp you run your thermostat.

I'm trying to get a feel for what my bill is going to be.

my apt is 850 sq ft... slightly larger than you're looking for but i'll give my input anyway.

    i use amigo and pay 13 cent/kWh

my computer is usually running 12-15 hrs/day and the 3 ceiling fans run 24x7. my lights are off when i'm not here, and usually only on in the room i'm in. the tv is rarely on. my ac and heat are set between 72-74.

my bill averages $75-90/month. in my budget i have $150/mo set aside for electricity, so it's nice when i have an extra $40-75 at the end of the month to spend.

edit: my building (3 story and i'm on the 2nd) is 3 years old.

644 sq ft, TXU here in dallas.

My November bill was $25.21 (I just paid it). My July/August/December/January bills are usually my highest. Usually around $60-70. I turn off my AC/heat when I am not home since it doesnt take long to cool/heat my apartment. Computer and TV are always on even I am not using them.

    I'd say I average $45 a month...

Don't forget that the age of the apartment makes a difference too...
Generally the newer the apartment, the better insulated it is, which will help to lower your electric bill.

I have about a 600 sq ft apartment. I don't use the lights excessively, so the major expenses are my fridge, PC, and a couple hours of TV a day. I've never payed more than 100 bucks during the summer, and lately it's been around 40. I'm on the second floor of a three-story. Complex was built in the 80s. I have TXU in Houston.

I live on the 3rd floor which adds a bit but frankly you are gonna have to specify what months.

I have LCD 42", 2 20" LCD montors, 2 laptops going about 12 hrs/day a Desktop about 18hr/day on average (desktop is high wattage, not sure what it draws but it has a 700watt PSU), I use the high heat super bad setting on dryer, use a dishwasher with heated drying.

last month was 53 bucks, and in the dead of summer I was at 130. I think both rates were 14.9.

What provider do you have? So far TXU seems pretty damn good.

I'll be leasing from January through June/July, depending on the move-in date. No washer/dryer, no dishwasher, a 42" plasma that I only use a couple of hours a day currently, and a desktop PC with a 400w power supply that I run a couple of hours a day. I'm not afraid of the dark or anything, so lights will only be on as needed at night and off during the day.

I had budgeted 90 dollars, but I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I should be well under that.

Only provider in my area is CoServ, and yes, they rip us the hell off every month.

    I live in like a 300 ~ 350 sq ft studio LOL..

It basically a 12' by 14' room (living area) plus separate kitchen and bathroom.

My electricity is around $50~$60 during the winter but in the summer it was averaging over $100

you guys have it soooo made and you dont even realize it.

4 bdr, 2 bath, 2 car garage, probably around 2K ft (not sure right off hand)

If we get a bill of less than 400, we smile.

now, granted, the house was built in the mid 70s, its badly in need of some new insulation, adn I have 7 computers running full time and a large workgroup color lazer all in one. tvs in every bedroom and living room with their associated peripherals.

    AND

the wife needs to keep the ac/heat at around 70 year round.

enjoy the good life of low utilities while you can.

/me still remembers the good old days of all bills paid ;)

The newer ones seem to average in the $850-$950 range depending on the part of town.

My midtown apartment (880 sq.ft.) just went up $130 when I renewed. I moved in two years ago at $881/mo. Now I'm at $1100/mo. Oh, and my electricity bill topped out at $230 in July. I'm on the top floor and insulation is for ****. I'll be house hunting this year.
