How did Eddie Vedder not at least get nominated for an Oscar for his effort in making the ENTIRE soundtrack for such a powerful movie? He played every instrument himself on the album's 9 original songs and 2 covers. It's a masterpiece in my opinion, but I wanted to know what others thought. im a pretty big pearl jam fan. but thats mostly only for the first 2 cds and a bit here and there for vitology and yield. but i came away with a WHOLE new respect for eddie vedder after heard that stuff. i need to get the actual music though to really listen to it.
I was wondering the same thing. I loved this song from the movie: From the Into the Wild Soundtrack Wikipedia entry it says: "Hard Sun" was the most successful song from Into the Wild on the rock charts, charting at number 13 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks charts. Both "Hard Sun" and "Guaranteed" had accompanying music videos. Vedder won a 2008 Golden Globe for the song "Guaranteed" from Into the Wild.[4] "Guaranteed" was also nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the category of Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.[5] Vedder was nominated for a Golden Globe for his contributions to the film's original score in 2008."
I'm pretty sure the soundtrack won a golden globe and was nominated for a grammy award. one of the songs had a haunting harmonica theme going. was that all eddie? but didnt he collaborate with a couple other musicians on this?
