for those of you who think we should trade yao and rockets are better without yao, look at what yao has brought to the rockets,

    they reached playoff
then they won 50+ games in a season
and then they got the home court advantage
and then they advanced to second round
i dont know what would happen next year, but it will be amazing

yes, i admit that the rockets are better without yao when they are facing the lakers, but without yao, the rockets would have no chance against the blazers, a team which is much more talentd, and can outrun the rockets on the court

I think Ron Artest is clearly the MVP of the Rockets. He is the reason we are in Round 2. From inside the locker room, where no fans can see, to on the court.

Who the **** said they wanted to trade Yao?

Do we really need more of these stupidass threads? As if we didn't know those "fun facts" already.

McGrady got them to the playoffs.
McGrady got them more than 54 wins.
Home Court? Yao hasn't yet.. McGrady did though when he was the best player on the team.
I give a more team effort for the 2nd Round including at least 30-40% of the credit to Artest, I can't say Yao led us to the 2nd round... I just don't believe he willed this team to the 2nd round.

We are keeping Yao.... until at least 2010. After that I think we will possibly offer him less, if he wants to stay here in, than he will. I don't really care if Yao does though, we move on if he doesn't. It's not like he's a young talent where we're losing him.. we'll be losing an older injury prone prone player, time to restart then.

Who the hell is talking about McGrady here?

Little insecure? Anyways, Yao did lead them. Like it or not. We all know one thing and that's the Yao will be here in 2010, Tracy is already backing his bags.

I agree, we shouldn't trade Yao, but it's more than his past accomplishments. He's still a franchise player, not max contract worthy though. Best center in the world and he's our biggest piece to win a title.

I don't even know the Rockets are better against Lakers without Yao part. Opponents will adjust from a Yao centric team to a no-Yao team.

Rockets lost badly to a Milwakee team without Redd and Bogut after they beat them time after time with those two in the lineup. Spurs had a hot streak without Ginobili, Orlando beat Philly easily without Howard, those things happen.

But in a long run, team will suffer after other teams adjusted. Rockets won 10 in a row after Yao went down last year, only 9-7 after than to end the regular season, then lost to Utah in 6 games with better role players than a year before and Tmac played like his old self.

people dont understand the reason the rockets are successful against the lakers without yao is just match ups.

but against most other teams yao is the best option

i dont see how someone could cast out a man like yao who puts his all into games

i'd rather have a yao ming who plays with heart and emotion every night who is an injury risk then some "star" athlete with talent but no motivation or drive

at least with yo you know the motivation and effort is there but his body wont allow it, that i can live with, compared to someone with talent that doesn't have a sense of urgency or pride for his organization

I think the vast majority (at least 85%) would be against trading Yao in the first place. I'm ready to win or lose with him.

    ...damned his nice guy demeanor

I ve replyed from that one with the stupid poll, here goes again:

Very funny, in the biggest Chinese NBA forum, almost 90% Rockets fans vote to trade Yao, just because they heard that there is a ridiculous poll right here in the biggest Rockets forum of the world. As a big fun of Rockets, I support this team since Yao's here, but be honest, some of u guys make me sick, go ahead, trade him,or give him $10 millions a year, say whatever u want, find a way to let him kown that this city do not need him anymore, then he can leave here with his broken heart, and loyalty. For u guys, just try to forget him as soon as u can...
    Good luck Houston.

I'd definitely trade Yao if we can bring picks or a big name.

What kind of a franchise player that breaks a bone every season, gets shut down by every defense, and brings so much weakness to our defense.

Yao is not the best center in the world.
