How would you rank the experience? Although I have watched a lot of games, I've never actually been to one. I will be going to the Rocket-Seattle in Seattle on Dec 9, and am really looking forward to it. I just want to have an idea of what the game will be like. ------------------ 2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas: End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!" 2nd: "What a great game!" 3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!" 4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!" Its pretty nice going to an NBA game. Ive only been to the arena in Houston so I wont be able to give u a broad view. Just expect fireworks, some comedy by mascots, and a basketball game. ------------------
Well, I have been to three or four Rocket games in the Summit. My best experience was a preseason game versus the Dallas Mavericks when they still had the "Three Js". I got to sit right behind the seats that are on the floor. It was awesome to watch a game that close up. The best part about being in the stadium, is you can yell at the players and coaches themselves instead of just the TV. The last game I went too, was with my wife. We had pretty crappy seats, but not the worst I've had. It was the Laker game when Barkley and Shaq got into a fight. Ooh boy, was I yelling up a storm. Then when Chuck was leaving the court and the crowd had gone silent, I yelled, "Way to go Chuck!" about as loud as I could. I know he and everyone else heard me. The worst seats I had was when my younger brother won tickets off the radio. We sat three rows from the very top of the seating area. Geez, it was hard just to tell who was who down there. But, it was my first game, so it was cool in that way. ------------------ "I have a DREAM.........his name's Hakeem." DREAMer's Rocket Page
Basketball is by far the best sport to watch live. But I'm biased having been brainwashed on bball at age 6 going to live HS games in the heart of Illinois basketball country. I don't care what level it is; live is great! But, there is nothing better than live NBA. Especially live playoffs.
Ever been to a hockey game HPee? It makes BBall look like slow motion. ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
The closer you sit, the better the experience but it is a lot of fun no matter where you are in the arena. ------------------ Time for a new cause.
I never enjoyed hockey on TV, but I kept thinking it must be better in person. I finally went to a Stars game vs the Kings last year. I had good seats in the lower center of the upper prom, and the Stars ended up winning 4-3 in OT. Far as I can tell, that's one of the most exciting hockey games I could've seen. Lots of scoring, my team (I'm orig from FW) won. I still didn't really enjoy the game much at all. I'd rather have seen the Rockets lose a blowout. Even some of the goals were boring. There'd be 4 or 5 guys shoving each other around in front of the net, and all of a sudden, the red light would go off. "GOAL!" Couldn't tell how the goal scored in live action even though I was staring right at the net the whole time. At least in basketball, you can always see the ball go through the hoop. Of course that was my first live hockey game. Maybe hockey's more of an acquired taste than basketball.
ZRB- always expect the unexpected! Last year I finally got my girl to go to a Rocks game with me...last minute, we had "terrible" seats (They weren't that bad, hell , I'm happy any time I'm in town to watch the Rocks!) We were playin' the Lakers and were a little bummed when we found out Kobe was going to be out but.....[LONG STORY=SHORT] ...it turned out to be the infamous Barkley vs. Shaq Slugfest of '99!!! The entire Summit (my girl included) were on the back of our seats screaming... it was awesome! ------------------ C-son
