When I went to the game a few weeks ago they said they may do this, but I thought the videophiles of the board may be interested. The Rockets are holding a hype video contest for fans. You build a video, in 45 seconds or less, that would fire up the crowd. i have very little knowledge of the programs that make movies, but i would suggest that someone make a movie using a clip from Summer Overture, look up the song you'll recognize it. i have wanted to do a video with this full sont portraying the tmac yao era, since there are so many crescendos and descendos it is great for a sports video. the beginning of the song is slow and creepy, i suggest slow motion yao and tmac footage, just showing them together, no action, as it it builds up, text in white appears telling the story of yao and tmac about 45 seconds into it, i would start showing video of the first year, t for 3, 13 in 35, yao clutch plays, yao dunks, close games clips, anything dramatic. close to 2 minutes i would start adding in jvg, jon barry, sura, all those guys from that 04 team that we loved. then at 230 it builds up as we show all the injuries of 06 keeps building as we show the previews for the 07 season, builds more, clips of who we added ( cant remember typing as song plays) gets louder, annnnd BAM dunk clips, more dunk clips more dunk clips, at 345 it slows to shows out 07 playoff failure speeds up to start the 08 campaign, the slogan, the added players, the new coach, slow start to the year, few clips, the start of the 22 game streak at 5 minutes, as it speeds up show each game (especially novaks 3)....when i originally wanted to make this video it ended with a black screen as red letters appear to show 2008 playoffs not sure if that made any sense to anyone, but i plan on making a video like this at some point, but if anyone else likes the idea, by all means make a bad ass video this song is perfect for dramatic sports events http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkNZUsqU71s
that's been used in tons of dunk compilation videos and mixes, i feel its played out. your video idea is nice, hopefully you have a good library of rockets clips to draw from.

I appreciate the...umm...appreciation in this thread. But there are several things working against me here. First off, I haven't been downloading ANY clips this year. The easiest way to find them would be to download R2K's highlight videos, but unfortunately those clips aren't very high quality (at no fault of his own). They're probably not clear enough to play on the video board at a game, I would imagine. On top of that, I simply don't have much time these days. I finally have a "career" now, and I'm not complaining, but it sure does eat up all the free time I had when I made videos in the past. Also, if you look at their example for a "hype video" it's that Mortal Kombat "test your might" thing they do during timeouts sometimes. I'm not sure their idea of "hype video" is our idea of "hype video". I may get a wild hair and try it anyway because it would be unbelievable to have my video played, but right now I just don't see how I'd make the time. I'm sure someone like pongD can step up. His videos are always great.
what's the deadline? CCR, If you were to manage to find the time, tell me which game clip vids you would need at full DVD res and we can work it out...I do still have them all from this season on my computer drive. I dont do mixes, so Im pretty much out of this, but I dont mind supplying the source

I know some people will flame me for saying this, but that 05 team was a hell of a lot more exiciting than today's team.
