The free agent class of 2003 is full of great players. If the rockets want to win the championship they need to sign one or two MAX FA out of this class. But they can't because Cato and Rice's contract extend through 2003, and francis will get the max. So I came up with this idea (Probably won't happen though).

Houston trades: Walt Williams $5,000,000 to Portland
Houston trades: Glen Rice $8,800,000 to Portland
Houston trades: Kelvin Cato $6,048,000 to Portland
    TOTAL: $19,848,000

Portland trades: Scottie Pippen $18,083,564 to Houston
    TOTAL: $18,083,564

    TRADE ACCEPTED

I know everyone here hates pippen so do I but his contract expires in 03' and he will retire. We can use him for 2 years.

Portland needs a big man (Cato) and Rice will take Wells place when he leaves for FA, and Williams will take the minimum to play for them when his contract expires or he can walk. They want to get rid of Pippen badly that is why they will do it. And also to get a big FA in '02.

Rockets get their SF who can play D. Get rid of all their expensive contracts. So they can get their FA in 03'

    lineup in '02

    C - Willis/Collier
    PF - Griffin/Thomas/Taylor
    SF - Pippen/Morris
    SG - Mobley/Torres
    PG - Francis/Norris

They can get either Duncan/Jermaine O'neal/Odom/McDyess/Brand.

    lineup in '03

    C- Jermaine/Duncan/Brand
    PF - Griffin/Taylor
    SF - Odom/McDyess/Morris
    SG - Mobley/Torres
    PG - Francis/Norris

    NBA Champs '03 no doubt.

    Probably won't?

Man that's an understatement considering Quitten hated it here and Portland thought so much of the players they would take that they traded them here in the first place.

Don't you ever use Scottie Quitten and the Rockets in the same sentence again unless the sentence sounds something like Scottie Quitten sucked ass when he was on the Rockets!!

    Aww...don't rip the junior member...

It's an interesting proposition, Ace, but I think Pippen and Houston's differences are irreconcilable.

I do like the idea of getting J. O'Neal, though. :p
