For any guy who's getting married... (or just did)

Anyone who's engaged--or thinking about it--knows the hell that is wedding planning: florists, vendors, $$$$$, fights with parents, blah blah.... it can sort of suck.

I've been working on a new site about this topic -- but from the guy's point of view. Articles that you would never, ever see on the other girly-wedding-sites:

Is She The One? (first line: Probably Not.)
How to get cash, not vases in your gift registry
What to do if you cheat
10 arguments to get her to elope.
How to negotiate a prenup
How to call off your wedding like a gentleman.
etc.

Anyway. What do you think? We tried to avoid dumb topics like "7 Hot Trends in Wedding Cake Frosting!!!" (the other girly-sites like The Knot or Bride Hourly do this junk all the time), and instead just give the bare essentials. I wrote a lot of the content, hope you find it useful.

This baby is in beta and the press releases will go out next week...

Any feedback--good, bad, ugly--welcome... almost no one else has seen the site yet -- Clutchfans is just about the first to set eyes on it.

And less formally, if anyone has any suggestions for other articles or content you'd like to see, definitely lemme know... We have over 60 features at launch, and we'll be adding stuff as we go. Love to hear what else you'd wanna see.

 

Also, I know I don't post that often, but I lurk a ton, and for the past 6+ years, the Forums at Clutchfans have been a bedrock of stability. I've changed cities, girlfriends, jobs, hell even careers...but the Clutch BBS has been the one thread of continuity.

Anyway. So we have a Plunge Forums that I hope will one day be 10% as cool as the ones here at Clutchfans. The idea is that it's a place for guys to talk -- anonymously -- about the relationship issues they can't address with their real-life buddies. (i.e. when you have a beer with your buddies, you talk about the Rockets and work -- you're probably not going to ask him about "intimacy issues.")

Long-winded way of saying that I've been inspired by the good-vibe here, and hope to capture a little of that -- from wedding perspective -- over at The Plunge.

We'll see how it plays.

meggoleggo - thanks for kind words, and nice to know the site isn't a complete turn-off for women. (we've been sort of surprised to get mostly good feedback from women -- at heart, The Plunge isn't cynical or anti-relationship...just anti-wedding-industry-BS ... and I think people are responding to that.)
