Here's another reason for you to hate the best team in baseball. Yankees send Justice to Mets for Ventura GO YANKEES!!!
I'm not a fan of either team, but I'd rather have David Justice than Robin Ventura. I know Justice struggled some last year, but almost every year that he's been healthy he's been a great player, esp. in September and October. Ventura is an ok 3B, but nothing special. If I were the Yanks, I would've considered starting Enrique Wilson at third, and keeping Justice's bat for the DH, spot starts in RF and LF, etc.
I knew I could count on you guys! Don't be suprised to see Ventura platooned at 3rd, unless he bounces back from his "below average" season of last year. Moving Justice just opens the door for Alou.
Yeah seriously, why are you calling the best team in baseball the Yankees? You guys lost, quit lying to yourselves...
Why do people hate the Diamondbacks and why would anti-Dback folk care about some 3rd rate, ass kicken by Nolen, infielder traded for by some team other than the world champions. People only remember the World Champions, the Dbacks, maybe that's why I can't remember where the Roaches finished last year.
You're excited about sending David Justice to the Mets for Robin Ventura!? ROBIN VENTURA!!!!??? You might as well have traded for Jesse Ventura, he would have been just as productive. Maybe the Yankees should stick to buying all of the available players like Alou and Giambi, and Mussina and killing baseball.
Of course. I don't expect Ventura to play 162 games, but he gives the Yankees a good glove at third along with some legitimate power and as I said earlier in this thread, moving Justice opens the door for talks with Alou or whoever.
But one of those teams are the champs, and other, well, I don't remember, but I know they are not reigning World Champs. The rest (who imporved x who improved y), is just offseason chat that doesn't mean anything. Just ask the Redskins of 2 years ago or the Red Sox of last year.
You seem to really love saying this. And it's true, but it doesn't mean much. Baseball is currently like boxing would be if they didn't have different weight classes. Sure, a feather weight might beat Lewis, but I damned well sure watch it just to find out. Twould be boring. As it is with such uneven payrolls in baseball. So, two solutions: 1. Divide up the league on the basis of salary. You can have that terrific Dodgers-Yankees-Orioles-Red Sox league. 2. Real revenue sharing.
