The U.S. 2010 World Cup official home kit revealed, and contest! By Brooks Peck I wished they stayed "classic" with one kit design all the time (same color jersey, same color pants, same color jerseys, etc.) like Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, etc. Nonetheless, it's stylish. What do you all think?
I like it, but I'm also against Nike changing changing the look every time we play in an international tournament. Countries like Brazil, Netherlands, England, etc. have consistent looks, even though some minor style elements are changed. It's the main reason why I'm hesitant to buy one.
Swoosh and USMNT logo should be swapped. But of course, they want the swoosh to stand out by being on the diagonal stripe.
I prefer the away kit. I like it thought. Homage to the 1950 team while we get to play England again. Eric Wynalda is partly right. Both kits from 1994 were a travesty made even worse because the Cup was in the US.
^ Exactly, leroy420. The BASIC kit shouldn't change. Yes, keep up with trends, yes, keep up with fashion, and yes, keep it nicely designed and not outlandish. http:// bleacher report . com / articles /386037-new-usa-soccer-jersey-inspired-by-miracle-on-grass-win-over-england (BleacherReport dot com is banned, remove spaces, please) See, if you're--for example--Brazil. You're successful. You keep the same kit all the time, granted that you add a few insignificant stripes of green, and the basic colors are YELLOW, BLUE, then BLUE. If you go to a Brazil game, and you wear YELLOW, you're automatically seen as supporting the team. If you wear a jersey they used in '78 or in '94, you're NOT out of style. It's basically the same jersey. If you go to a MEXICO game, and you wear GREEN, whether it's the jersey from the '86 or the 90... uhhh, scratch that no 90... or 2006, you know it's MEXICO. http://www.slate.com/id/2168476/ <- June 2007 article that touches on this. http://www.slate.com/id/2168476/slideshow/2168583/fs/0//entry/2168574/
Not digging the sash. I'm just glad that Nike didn't cookie cut them with other countries. If would be cool to have red alternates. France has red alternates. We're the freaking USA. USA! USA! Them tea drinkers are going down.
Slovenia's team kit, one of the better ones for sure. I like this one as well (Dutch)...the French jersey is also nice, my fav team, probably going to buy one. Hate the Portugal kit, have lots of Portuguese friends, they love it.
By the time I find out, I'm sure the USA womens team would still be the only ones to have actually accomplished anything in USA soccer.
