Due to some disputes on fees, the deal between Scripps Network (the company that owns those channels) expired without a new deal being reached.

Totally sucks, becuase I love Food Network and especially Cooking Channel... and right before Thanksgiving. I've learned a lot of great techniques (like brining my turkey) and gathered a huge collection of recipes from these channels.

I love to cook and eat so much that I now love to watch other people cook.

So we get NBA tv, in which we must pay extra to watch unlike Comcast, and lose two of the more popular channels. Brilliant.

 Huh? I have the 300 package and I'm not paying extra for NBATV. Are you saying that the cooking channels are more important than NBATV? Are you a Rockets' fan? ;)

Wow that's lame. I don't have to pay for NBA tv with my provider. Although, from what I can tell my old cable company makes you pay for it, Looks like a package.

Just hope DirectTV doesn't drop any of my channels any time soon. G4 was lame to see go, but I never watched it that much any ways.

Me too, but if these channels come back on the air, check out cooking channel. It's done by the Food Network people, but I think it's so much better. There's a show on there called Food Jammers that's awesome.

The HD is 1456 on Uverse... or it was.

I'm pissed because BBC HD isn't offered on Comcast or AT&T. No Top Gear in HD sucks.

These network/cable provider wars seem to be happening more frequently. They will come to an agreement. I'm not that worried. I really only watch. Food Network Challenge and occasionally Iron Chef America.

    ¿En Serio???

I went to http://uversetv.att.yahoo.com/wra/uverse/, logged in, and can see that in 632 right now they're showing Knicks @ Bulls and I can record it from there.

I know I'm paying for the 300 and the DSL in the low (or mid) for a total of about $120... unless they upgraded me without notice!

Foodian slip? The power of one little PERIOD... you voyeur, you.

Scripps Network (HGTV, Food Network, DIY, Cooking Channel, GAC) agreement with U-verse TV has expired

As of midnight on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, AT&T's agreement with the Scripps Network (HGTV, Food, DIY, Cooking Channel and GAC) has expired.

Although we have worked on negotiating a fair agreement with the Scripps Networks, the programming fees they are seeking are not reasonable. AT&T cannot and will not give in to unfair programming costs for our customers. We continue to fight for a fair deal for our customers and to get these channels back on.

As result of not being able to reach a fair deal with Scripps, the following channels have been pulled from U-verse:

    HGTV (channel 450 SD/1450 HD)
Food Network (channel 452 SD/1452 HD)
    DIY (channel 454 SD/1454 HD)
Cooking Channel (channel 456 SD/1456 HD)
    GAC (channel 529 SD

U-verse members will be able to enjoy TLC, Bravo, Planet Green, ION Life and CMT Pure Country in place of the removed Scripps Networks for a 30 day free preview (11/3-12/3):

HGTV Replacement Network TLC (not even close, already had that)
Food Replacement Network Bravo (ditto and WTF?)
DIY Replacement Network Planet Green (ditto)
Cooking Channel Replacement Network ION Life (had it already)
GAC Replacement Network CMT Pure Country (who freaking cares?)

Anybody else's spouse tripping out right now?

I'm contacting them for some money back. 1-800-288-2020

This Sucks, I am getting Uverse installed tomorrow. What is the point of this crappy network if they can't reach deals?
