I've been eating quite a bit at several American Chinese restaurants, buffet style. I love how there is so much variety at these places. I wished that I had discovered this a long time ago. At any rate, I like eating all the various chicken dishes they have, especially the Sweet and Sour chicken with soy sauce as well as chicken on a stick and General Tsao's(sp?) chicken. But my favorite dish or food by far is the Egg Drop (or as it called at one place, Egg Flower) soup. What are some of your favorite dishes/foods at these restaurants? You can also mention dishes/foods that would only be served at traditional Chinese restaurants (has no Western influence involved).
My favorite Chinese foods are... Chicken or Veggie/Steam or Fried Dumplings Sweet and Sour Chicken Orange Chicken
Locally owned Dine-In Chinese Restaurants > Corporate Chinese Buffets (your usual generic named King Buffet, China Buffet, China King Buffet, Panda Buffet, and etc)
That's not true, but would depend on what you ate... I like Peking Duck and have had it in London, Manilla and HK...mmm... I've done Dim Sum in HK and it was pretty good, but you have to know what you're eating...
The Chinese buffet that I go to occassionally serves something they call "Thai Chicken." Its basically roast chicken in an oil bath but its really good. For more typical Chinese buffet fare I usually like the sauteed green beans in garlic and preserved vegatables. Those are pretty good even if they've been sitting on the steam tray for a while. As far as traditional Chinese fare there's too much to pick from.
Ditto. I avoid Chinese buffets like the plague. If you dig Chinese dumplings and like to explore Chinatown in Houston, check out Fu Fu Cafe on Bellaire b/w Corporate and the Beltway. Great food there!
think of the McDonalds there..have a nice plaguefilled coke with a cardboard hamburger and a toxic painted toy for the kiddo
