What's up fellas, y'all up for some problem solving? I have little experience steaming tails, and I am currently without a steamer basket. I'm simply trying to steam 2 tails from HEB in some Shiner, and all I have is a medium saucepan, a wok, and a large pot. I also have some aluminum foil, and I'm a little high right now and realize buying a steamer basket is the best solution. But as Towlie says.....
You don't need a lot of water to steam. Put the lobster on a plate and place it into the wok or sauce pan if it fits. Put some water in and you are good.
you could also "pan grill" them, a little oil in the bottom of the pan, medium heat, then cook w/out moving, as you would if they were on a grill.
Tools/ingredients ------------------ Large pot Bowl Lobster Lid or foil lid Steps -------- Put a bowl in the pot Fill pot with water half way up the side of the bowl Place tails in bowl Put lid on pot (or foil cover) Set to boil and steam Or just wrap the tails in a damp towlie, wrap that tight in foil, then drop in boiling water...probably just 2 minutes If you have an oven: Poach like fish by covering with butter wrapping in foil (tight) and put in oven
I also have some crab legs can I steam them at the same time, with the tails? And also me an the old lady are having a debate over how to do the catfish nuggets, it's either: beer battered or cornmeal crust What say you?
Cut the top of the shell and bake them. I've done it and it turns out really good. You can find many different resipes on line.
lol...i got four reps on how to steam without a steamer. maybe i need a cooking channel. or everyone is high.
