I'm flying to Atlanta this weekend. Can anybody tell me what I can and can't bring on the plane as far as toothpaste, contact lense solution, and other liquids is concerned?
I'm going there too. In regards to liquids, you can bring anything as long as its in a 4oz container or smaller. The catch is the size has to be clearly marked so the TSA agents don't have to guess. All your containers have to fit in a quart size zip lock bag. Now this only applies to carryons. You can put anything into your checked luggage.
As far as I'm concerned the new rules make you check a bag. So, even for two day trips, I carry on a small sling bag or back pack with one change of clothes, MP3 Player, book, etc... and check everything else including toiletries. I figure (with toiletries) you can always stop at an Eckerd's, CSV, whatever and just buy the stuff if something happens to your bag on the way.
Last time I took a trip I only took a tootbrush...they didn't say anything to me. I didn't even have a return ticket! This site will help you: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
Actually, 3 ounces is the limit. Don't know if you're taking a laptop or not, but if you're going to carry it on the plane you have to take it out of it's bag and put it in it's own tote when you go through security. I didn't know that and had to waste time having one of the guards redo it a couple of weeks ago.
