I pass on the flu shot. Didn't get one last year and wasn't sick one single day last year. Didn't get one this year, and haven't been sick all year.... ... come to think of it, I haven't been sick in at least two years. props to my sister-in-law who's a doctor and hooks me up with a running prescription of Biaxin. Anytime I feel a cold coming on, I take two Biaxin a day, two multivitamins, eat three healthy meals, and get plenty of sleep and the cold doesn't hit me.
Every time I get the flu shot, I get sick. The one year I didn't I was healthy the whole season. Not getting one this year.

I think I'm immune to the flu  I'm around hundreds of people a day and have never gotten it, maybe I'm just super lucky.
There are other things besides influenza that causes similar symptoms. Besides the flu shot is based on the probability that strain of influenza will be the prevelant one in the US for this year. There's no guarantee you will not have the flu if you get the flu vaccine. All the flu vaccine will do is decrease the likelihood of you getting the flu if you are exposed to that particular strain.
exactly. Vaccine Side Effects (What to Expect) Different side effects can be associated with the flu shot and LAIV. The flu shot: The viruses in the flu shot are killed (inactivated), so you cannot get the flu from a flu shot. Some minor side effects that could occur are: •Soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given •Fever (low grade) •Aches If these problems occur, they begin soon after the shot and usually last 1 to 2 days.
If you got the flu, then you may actually be feeling better right now than you would have had you not gotten the shot also.
The Biaxin probably ain't doing much to combat the flu. Biaxin is an antibiotic (i.e. treats bacterial infections). The flu (influenza) is a virus. Antibiotics don't treat viruses and are in fact contra-indicated for a viral infection. You probably have a strong immune system and supplementing it with the vitamins/healthy meals/sleep is more helpful than the Biaxin.
Thats interesting lil pun. I've had allergies ever since I got that flu/h1n1 shot and I have never had them before, at least not like that. I thought I was finally over them last week and then I came down with the flu I assume you are better now? I'm sure a lot of this is coincidental but I'm done with the flu shot. I never got them until about 2 years ago when my daughter was born
I am thinking it is coincidental as well because before these past 2 years, I never had this type of reaction but I am just not sure. I'm not 100% better but am not completely over it. Runny nose, nasal congestion and cough are still prevalent.
If you're right, it's probably a placebo, then.... ... in which case, I still don't care as long as I don't get sick.
i have not gotten a flu shot or any kind of shot since 1999 and i dont have any problems. dont get me wrong, i get sick for 2-3 days once or twice a year, but so do most people who get the shot.
